📍You’ll find this nasi lemak gem in the morning at the Shell Petrol Station on Jalan Thean Teik—just search Jalan Shaik Madar. You’ll know you’re close when you see a line of cars and the scent of sambal in the air. And to top it all off, Kak Ros herself greets every customer with the kind of warmth that makes your breakfast extra special. ❤️

Had a dinner yesterday evening at the Sungai Pinang food court. And order the stingray and brinjal from the ikan bakar stall.

Felt that the taste is already different from last time. 🤔

Tucked away in an unassuming part of town, this isn’t the kind of street lined with trendy cafés or packed with tourists. Instead, it’s surrounded by small godowns, micro-industries, and aging residential homes — the kind of place you’d likely overlook unless you knew exactly what you were looking for.

Inside this humble kopitiam, there’s only one thing on the menu: Penang Hokkien Mee — or prawn mee, as it’s known elsewhere. They open as early as 6:00am to serve the morning crowd, and by noon, they’re done for the day.

What you get here is a no-frills, classic bowl of Hokkien Mee. The broth strikes a nice balance — flavourful without being overpowering, comforting in the best way.
