The new MyKad featuring a QR code with enhanced security is set to roll out on 1 June 2026. ☺️

The government has also approved a new contract for the procurement of MyKad, MyTentera, and MyPoca cards.

According to Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, these upgraded MyKad features are designed to modernise national registration and improve digital checks efficiency for all Malaysians.

He studied behind bars to turn his life around.

Mohd Khairul Ab Aziz, serving time for a substance-related offence, resumed his studies with limited internet access and dim corridor lighting, five months before his release.

At 43, he graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a Master of Social Science. Khairul said his graduation symbolised making amends to his two children and was in hopes of restoring his dignity.

His research on co***ne use was also featured in the UNODC’s Global Co***ne Report, making him the first Malaysian to achieve this milestone.
