Leng Teh Peng for 1,900?! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ’ธ

For a few seconds, I genuinely thought I had just ordered the most expensive leng teh peng in Penang.

The waiter came over with my drink while I was busy taking out my phone and preparing my full-fledged "ShopeePay payment infrastructure" โ€” unlock phone, open app, scan QR, wait for internet, double-check amount... you know the drill. ๐Ÿคฃ

Before paying, I casually asked him the price. Without missing a beat, he replied:

"1900."

I froze.

My brain immediately started calculating.

"Wait... did I accidentally order some premium herbal tea imported from the Himalayas?"

"Is there gold flakes inside?"

"Did inflation hit harder than I thought?"

I looked at him. He looked at me.

Then he started laughing.

"RM1.90"

Apparently saying "1900" instead of "satu ringgit sembilan puluh sen" is a running joke among the staff there.

Only then did my heart rate return to normal and I quietly keyed in RM1.90 into ShopeePay like nothing happened. ๐Ÿ˜‚

For a brief moment, I was mentally preparing to wash dishes to pay off my debt.

So now I'm curious...

Am I the only one who got trolled by this, or has anyone else kena before? ๐Ÿ˜…

Penang curry mee ft. roast pork.

Won't say it's complete package since it's missing cockle ๐Ÿ˜…. But the taste is not bad and there isn't many place in Penang that offer roast pork as add on.

Can consider this area if you are around USM area. However the food court is not well ventilated so consider tapao or ordering cold drinks if you decide to dine there.

Durian Trip in Penang โ€“ Let's Goooo! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

With durian season in full swing, we decided to go on a mini durian adventure around Penang.

Our first stop was Durian Anak Kampung. One thing that immediately stood out was the beautiful scenery. The stall overlooks the Second Penang Bridge, making it a pretty nice place to sit back and enjoy some durian while taking in the view.

After browsing through the available fruits, nothing really caught our eye, so we settled on a Khun Po priced at RM28/kg. The flesh looked promising. Nice colour, decent texture, and fairly creamy. Unfortunately, the seeds were quite large, which made the overall experience a little less satisfying. The fruit came up to about RM40 in total.

Still feeling a bit unsatisfied and chasing that perfect durian high, we decided to continue the hunt.

Next stop: Durian Kaki.

This round was much more exciting. We picked three different varieties: Capri, Ang Hea, and Tuhan Kasi. While Ang Hea and Tuhan Kasi were both enjoyable and had their own unique flavour profiles, the surprise winner of the day was actually Capri.

Capri delivered that tingling sensation on the tongue that durian lovers know and appreciate. Rich, flavourful, and memorable, it was easily our favourite among the three.

Price-wise, Ang Hea was RM28/kg, while Capri and Tuhan Kasi were RM25/kg. By the time we finished our feast, the damage at Durian Kaki alone came to RM94.50. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Adding the earlier Khun Po, the grand total for the day was approximately RM135.

That's almost enough for a durian buffet for two people! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Was it worth it? Financially, maybe not. But durian season only comes once a year, and sometimes you just have to satisfy the craving. No regrets... at least until I check my wallet again tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Oyster omellete(owh chien) and fried radish cake(char koay kak)

Let me start from char koay kak. The wok hei is there so that's all I can ask about. A bit salty but that's what char koay kak should be. Price is 5.50 for small portion + egg. Can recommend if you are around the area.

The oyster omellete itself is nice and fragrant but it's quite oily so I couldn't bring myself to finish it. It should be shared amongst multiple people haha. The portion itself is generous for the price. Price is 15 for small portion. As good as it is, personally won't repeat this. If it's less oily then it would be perfect.

They also have laksa at night time which is very welcome. Other choices including curry mee, wantan mee, char koay teow, homkien mee.

That's sad. Always have loved Aeroline since it provides direct transport from Queensbay Penang to KLCC. Would have loved it if they direct transport to Lalaport but oh well...

To our Aeroline family,

For over two decades, the sight of our iconic yellow Aeroline buses navigating the streets of Kuala Lumpur has been a symbol of hassle-free and reliable travel. It is therefore with a heavy heart that we announce a major transition: Aeroline buses will

We know this comes as a shock to many of our loyal passengers, but this decision stems from a systemic regulatory challenge that we have been navigating for the past 15 years. It truly has been an exhausting journey for us and if given the opportunity, we hope to share the deeper history of this unbelievable journey with you. But today, we want to lay out the facts of our current situation transparently.

When our long-standing home at Corus KLCC was no longer suitable to serve as an Aeroline station, we relocated to This move proved to be hugely popular and an absolute boon for our passengersโ€”especially vulnerable groups like the elderly, families with young children, and first-time tourists.

By positioning the bus station a few steps from the countryโ€™s only MRT exchange, we offered a truly seamless travel experience. The most popular tourist hotspots like Bukit Bintang, KLCC, and Chinatown are just a few stops away, and the crucial "last mile" of travel is effortlessly achieved. TRX is, without a doubt, the most ideal, strategic gateway into KL for overland FIT (Fully Independent Traveler) travellers and guests entering the heart of Kuala Lumpurโ€”delivering them right where they need and also for their onward journey to the rest of Malaysia. The simple boarding process, coupled with this strategic location fully embodies Aeroline's core mission to refine travel for everyone.

On 13th May 2026, we received a strict directive stating that we are only permitted to operate from licensed terminals. Under current regulations, the only licensed stations available to us today are

This has placed us in an impossible conundrum for our KL passengers:

โ“๐—ช๐—ต๐˜† ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ท๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜? Many of you will naturally ask this. Unfortunately, the commercial fees imposed for our buses and passengers to land at LaLaport do not align with our long standing core value of providing "value for money." We believe it is neither fair nor right to simply pass these unprecedented costs to our passengers.

โ˜•๐—” ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ค๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†: In addition, the physical setup at LaLaport makes it difficult to replicate the signature Aeroline experience that our passengers have come to appreciateโ€”including comfortable waiting lounges, complimentary refreshments, as well as personalised assistance for ticketing, check-in and account-related enquiries.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ๐—”๐—ฑ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€ : Our ticketing and reservation system also requires a more sophisticated level of administrative and customer support compared to conventional bus operations. Replicating these service standards within the current operating framework would require substantial additional manpower, facilities, and operational expenditure on top of the existing commercial charges already imposed at the terminal.

Ultimately, these compounded costs would make the entire proposal financially untenable without significantly compromising either service quality or affordability for our passengers.

Rather than compromising our values, charging you more, or delivering a compromised experience,

We want to express our deepest gratitude to every passenger who has boarded an Aeroline bus in downtown Kuala Lumpur over the years. Thank you for trusting us with your journeys, your families, and your time. It has been our honour and privilege to serve you.

While this chapter is coming to a close, our journey is far from over. We remain deeply committed to serving our passengers across our other hubs and routes, while continuing to uphold the standards of safety, comfort, reliability, and hospitality that you have come to expect from Aeroline.

Seeing the long queue at JPJ and lunchtime getting closer, I decided to walk over to Nasi Awek Muda. Unfortunately, it was closed ๐Ÿ˜… so I ended up stumbling upon this random nasi campur stall further down the road instead.

The variety of lauk isnโ€™t as many as Awek Muda, but honestly still more than enough for hungry lunch crowd. Got the usual suspects like ayam goreng, ayam rempah, gulai ikanโ€ฆ and somehow even Japanese tofu for the โ€œChineseโ€ side of me ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

In the end, total damage was only RM7.50 including a teh o ais. Considering todayโ€™s prices, I think thatโ€™s actually quite reasonable. What do you all think of the price ? Is it cheap, normal, or already mahal nowadays?

Stall location: Nasi Campur Tambuah Selera, Sg Dua near USM.
