【怡保美食篇】
不是第一次分享这怡保巴占 #百乐汇面馆 的美食,也不会最后一次。
还有谁还未曾听过或还未曾尝过这间百乐汇面馆 的虾面、新鲜番茄 (西红柿) 玉米汤面、椰汁咖喱面和煮猪肉粉等吗?
他们的虾面和海鲜粉用的虾是老板到巴刹 (菜市场) 鱼贩那亲自逐一手挑选出来比较大只的新鲜沙罗虾,所以吃起来我特别喜欢,觉得特别好吃。他们的虾面汤我和老板(荣哥)开玩笑说:“或许你在汤里面有加了鸦片,因为会让我上瘾和吃了还会念着何时再来吃!” 老板听了笑得合不拢嘴😆🤣 想要尝到这里的虾面,温馨提示最好别超过早上九点或九点半 (尤其是星期六星期日或假期时候),因为老板每天好不容易只挑选到不多的沙罗虾回来。所以,想要吃到好料就自己看着办啊😊
荣哥的骨子里对于烹饪是特别的执著。因为他做的番茄玉米汤面,也是亲自到巴刹挑选每一粒番茄,而不是到霸级超市买一箱一箱较廉价的番茄🍅 他说那种霸市的廉价番茄总有些会被挤压过而导致煮出来的汤味道难符合他 (精益求精) 的要求。假如你是喜欢那种用番茄酱调煮出来比较浓稠的番茄汤面,那这百乐汇的清鲜番茄汤面绝不合你舌头😆 但我家人就特别喜欢这里的这种清鲜清甜的番茄玉米汤面☺️
咖喱汤每个师傅都有着自个儿的一套功夫,假如你未尝过百乐汇的椰汁咖喱,试试看你会爱上吗?我是挺喜欢这味道的。
因为爱吃苦瓜,所以我也特别喜欢凉瓜 (也称“苦瓜”😣) 猪肉粉。简单清甜的汤水配上猪肉片和小米辣椒往嘴里送,人生就是那么简单😋
荣哥一直以来都在找着试着不同供应商的猪皮,现在终于找到了目前这个他认为满意质量的猪皮。把它放进咖喱汤内烫熟,配着长豆和浓香的椰汁咖喱吃,真的好吃👍🏻😋
餐单内还有各式各样的面食供选择,几乎我也都试完了。我清楚我喜欢什么,你呢?😉
还有一个小小温馨提示 (对一些食客来说或许会是吐槽的),也是因为荣哥的那份执著的要求,要每一碗面食都是用小煲一碗一碗的煮出来。所以在下单至面食送上的时间或许会是挑战你们耐性的一环。建议急性子或赶着上班之类的一就是别到那儿吃,要不然就得体谅等候的时间,方可一尝百乐汇的美食啊😆

Who hasn’t heard of or tried their prawn noodles (a.k.a. Hokien Mee), fresh tomato corn noodles soup, coconut curry noodles, or pork noodles?
Their prawn noodles and seafood noodles use fresh Sualo prawns - handpicked by the boss (Ah Wing) himself from the wet market. That’s why I love them so much; they just taste much better. I even joked with him: "Did you add o***m to the prawn noodles soup? Because I’m addicted and keep craving it!" He laughed his head off 😆🤣
Pro tip: If you want to taste the prawn noodles, you better come before 9am to 9:30am (especially on weekends/holidays). The boss only gets a limited batch of prawns daily - so plan wisely if you want to try the good stuff! 😉
Ah Wing is quite obsessive about cooking. For his tomato corn noodles, he hand-selects every fresh tomato 🍅 from the wet market but not the cheap bulk supermarket tomatoes for him! He says those often get bruised, ruining the soup’s taste. If you prefer thick, ketchup-heavy tomato soup, this light, fresh version won’t be your thing 😆. But my family just loves this natural sweetness.
Every curry master has their own secret - if you’ve never tried Broadway’s coconut curry, give it a shot. You might fall in love (I sure did! 😉).
As a bittergourd lover, I’m also hooked on their bittergourd pork noodles. Simple, clean broth with pork slices and cili padi - life’s that simple 😋
Ah Wing spent ages testing pork skin suppliers and finally found one he’s happy with. Blanched in curry soup with long beans and rich coconut curry.... Oh, heaven 👍🏻😋
I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. I know what I like, do you? 😉
One heads-up (or complaint, for some): Because Ah Wing insists on cooking each bowl individually in small pots, the wait can test your patience. If you’re in a rush, either skip it or embrace the delay - good food takes time! 😆
