感谢朋友送给我吃的 (自家菜园饲养的) 走地鸡，拔了鸡毛后都还有超过4公斤重。照片里的鸡肉只是一部份而已。鸡有鸡香味，肉有肉味，肉质又结实，是好吃👍🏻👍🏻🤤🤤😋😋

吃了炒粉后，经过怡保Ampang花园，顺路就停车喝粒椰水解热气呗（去偷看椰水档的越南老板娘🫣😆 不过我内子有随同我滴😄）。

这椰水档开业了几个月，我停下来喝其实不是因为看椰水档的老板娘（老板也有在档口的😊），而是他们卖你的椰水量比较公平。假如拿到有些较小的椰子，他们开了后会用一个测量壶测量一番，他们会确保卖你的椰水是达到他们设定的一定容量。假如我没记错，老板说他们设定每粒开出来卖给顾客的椰水要在大概700ml的标准。你以为玩玩啊，他们是认真卖椰水的👍🏻🫡😄 这是吸引我光顾的原因☺️

那，他们椰水档的位置在哪？就在Ampang花园那档挺出名的路边摊镒富猪肠粉档口的咫尺之间，下午这儿挺热闹的。

After munching on the Tiong Nan Shan fried noodles, I passed by Taman Ampang @ Ipoh and thought, "Heck, why not pull over for some coconut water to cool down?" (And maybe sneak a peek at the Vietnamese lady boss that running the coconut stall 🫣😆 — Well, my wife was with me 😄).

This coconut stall's been around for a few months. Now, let me be clear — I didn’t really stop just because of the lady boss (both husband and wife running the business actually 😊). The real deal is how they keep things fair with the portions. You know how some places give you a tiny coconut and call it a day? Not them! They actually use a measuring jug to make sure every coconut hits around 700ml before they serve it. No joke — these folks take their coconut water seriously 👍🏻🫡😄. And that’s what got me coming back, honestly ☺️.

So where exactly is this gem? It’s just a stone’s throw away from the famous Yick Fu chee cheong fun stall in Taman Ampang. Place gets pretty lively in the afternoons, just so you know!

Sau khi xơi xong đĩa bún xào, ngang qua Taman Ampang ở Ipoh, tự nhiên rẽ vào uống trái dừa cho mát mẻ cái đã 🫣😆 (thực ra là để… ngó nghiêng cô chủ quán nước dừa người Việt nữa đó mà – nhưng mà vợ tui cũng đi theo nên đừng hiểu lầm nha 😄).

Quán nước dừa này mới mở vài tháng. Tui ghé uống không phải vì cô chủ dễ thương đâu nha (mà vợ chồng cô ấy cùng bán chung á 😊), tại vì họ bán đúng lượng nước dừa rất công tâm. Gặp trái dừa nào nhỏ quá, họ mở ra rồi dùng cái ca để đong đếm kỹ lưỡng, đảm bảo lượng nước dừa bán ra luôn đạt tiêu chuẩn họ đề ra. Nếu tui nhớ không lầm, anh chủ nói mỗi trái dừa bán cho khách phải đạt khoảng 700ml. Tưởng đùa saooooo? Họ bán nước dừa “xịn xò” thật đó 👍🏻🫡😄 Chính điều đó mới hút tui ghé ủng hộ á ☺️

Ủa vậy quán nước dừa này nằm đâu? Nó nè: chỉ cách quán Chee Cheong Fun Yick Fu nổi tiếng ở Taman Ampang, Ipoh có một bước chân thôi, buổi chiều ở đây nhộn nhịp lắm nha!

怡保花园南区中南山茶室大虾炒鬼吊 (就是炒沙河粉) RM12 (我这盘是再加粉 RM13)。有香气有锅气，味道也好，虾也新鲜，是好吃👍🏻😋 同时，他们店内的鸡丝河粉和越南食物也是好吃😄

Big prawns fried kuey teow RM12. (mine was added kuey teow version RM13) in Ipoh Garden South Tiong Nan Shan coffee shop. The fried kuey teow like Chinese saying, with "Wok Hei", with fresh prawns, tasted good.👍🏻😋 The shredded chicken kuey teow noodles and Vietnam food in the coffee shop also yummy 😋

今天第一次在巴占巴刹 (菜市场) 买获一尾1.625公斤的英哥鱼🐟 (也有被称为鹦鹉鱼，parrot fish) , 售价是每公斤RM24。

对我来说，它是属于富有相当好看颜色的一种食用鱼。有些人认为它是一种对环保有贡献的海洋生物，所以部份环保份子不会吃它。但这就见仁见智吧。

我也还是第一次尝这英哥鱼，拿来做清蒸，肉质相当细嫩鲜美，还挺可以的☺️

Check out my awesome find at the Bercham wet market today – scored a 1.625 kg parrot fish for the first time! 🐟 It's selling for RM24 per kilo, not bad, right?

Honestly, I think parrot fish are kinda pretty with their colorful scales. Some folks say they’re eco-warriors of the sea, so not everyone's down to eat them. But hey, to each their own! 😜

Tried steamed parrot fish for the first time today – and wow, apparently the flesh was so tender and yummy! Definitely a thumbs-up from me. ☺️

《偶尔聊点生活小品》

怡保白兰园大街开了一家男士和儿童的“十蚊鸡”理发店💈 女士RM13 (剪)

重点是，理发师不是印度人而是华人滴😶‍🌫️🤭

这理发店叫“从心出发”，它就在爱茶隔两间，是半间冷气店铺，今天开业第三天。我先当白老鼠试了，价钱非常亲民实惠😊

剪完了头发，还可以走过去隔两间的Disny Bakery糕饼店买 斑斓/斑兰/香兰/Pandan 蛋糕吃（我两位朋友推荐），也是第一次探店😊 一盒介于RM14 (Pandan layer cake) - RM16 (Onde-onde Pandan layer cake), 4寸Pandan cake RM38, 6寸Pandan cake RM68。那Onde-onde pandan layer cake不是吃过最好吃的，但还算是不错吃😉😋

去试试呗 😄😄😄

《Little Life Updates》

There's a new barbershop (or better call it as "salon" 🤭 in Ipoh's Taman Cempaka that charges only 10 bucks / 10 quids (in RM lah of course, but not in USD or pound sterling😆) for men and kids! 💈 For women, it's RM13 (for a quick haircut).

The interesting part? The barber isn't Indian— but Chinese ladies 😶‍🌫️🤭

The salon's name is Restart Hair Cut Shop. It's located just two shops away from Aicha, in an air-conditioned half shoplot unit. Today is their third day in the business operation. I decided to be the guinea pig and try it out. Super affordable and easy on the wallet, man 😊

After the haircut, you can just walk two shops over and grab some Pandan cakes (highly recommended by two of my friends) from the Disny Bakery shop. It was my first time trying it though 😊 A box costs between RM14 (Pandan layer cake) and RM16 (Onde-onde Pandan layer cake). A 4-inch Pandan cake is RM38, and a 6-inch is RM68. I've tried the Onde-onde Pandan layer cake, not the best but still not bad at all 😉😋

Go try 'em 😄😄😄

纽西兰出名牛和牛奶众人皆知，现在怡保的 做优惠，武力纽西兰的牛油果卖RM10❗我买了一点先试试看是否好吃，怕不好吃等下上车又上船就惨了🤪 不过，假如纽西兰来到这里的牛油果才卖你RM2一粒，不好吃也值回票价吧，本地木瓜香蕉都买不到啦😅

Everybody knows New Zealand is famous for its cows and dairy. Right now, in Taman Ipoh Jaya Timur (Gunung Rapat area) is running a promo — they're selling 5 pieces of New Zealand avocados for just RM10❗ I grabbed a few to try first, 'cause if they don’t taste good, it'd be a total letdown... 😅

But hey, if a New Zealand avocado only costs you RM2 each, even if it's not the best, it’s still a crazy good deal. You can’t even get local papayas or bananas for that price too! 😅

之前看到脸书有人分享和介绍怡保上环18有咸蛋叉烧云吞面，可是一直没机缘碰上它。

前天刚好在上环18做东西，看到一家好运来茶室门口的一个档口写着咸蛋叉烧云吞面！哈哈，好像见到朱茵或陈法拉那样眼前一亮，就进去会一会它呗🤪

咸蛋黄塞在叉烧里面，加上一碗三粒水云吞和全蛋云吞面RM9.50 (还有猪油渣)，吃起来挺特别，全蛋面就甭说了，一定比普通云吞面爽口弹牙。假如你们没试过咸蛋叉烧，或许可以去试试看你喜欢吗😄

I saw someone on Facebook sharing about this wantan mee with salted egg char siu in Ipoh's Station 18, and I’ve been low-key wanting to try it — but just never got the chance.

Then the other day, I happened to be in Station 18 running some errands, and right outside this coffee shop called Kafe Luck Luck, there it was — a stall with a sign that said "Salted Egg Char Siu Wantan Mee"! 😍
I was so excited, like spotting lenglui celebrities — you know, the kind of glow-up feeling you get when you see Athena Chu or Fala Chen? Haha!
So of course, I went in to see what the hype was about 🤪

The salted egg yolk was stuffed right inside the char siu — so clever!
For RM9.50, I got the egg noodles, three pork wontons in soup, and yeah — they even added some crispy pork lard on top.
The whole combo was pretty unique.
And the springy all-egg noodles? No need to even explain — way better than your average wantan noodles.

If you’ve never tried salted egg char siu before, maybe give this one a shot — you might just love it!

Brother懂我喜欢喝咖啡，推荐我到北海的话要试这联丰咖啡店的咖啡和烧面包。

今天刚好到大山脚办事，中午就特地到联丰探探这家始于1958由海南人经营的咖啡店。

无论他们的斋啡或者普通有糖有奶的热咖啡都真的好喝，或者说也刚好合我口味吧😄

他们的roti kahwin，就是鸳鸯烤面包，搽上薄薄的咖央和牛油，配上咖啡，完美👍🏻😋 也试过他们的黄金屋上有太阳 (就是简称的蛋egg on toast) 也是好吃😆

同时也把胃再撑大，继续试他们的炸鸡、蛋炒肉和菜脯，还有花生卤豆腐，都不错吃。再来就是也从隔壁阿河牛肉粿条店叫了牛肉粿条汤在联丰店内吃。粿条汤底清甜（没有尝到重味精👍🏻)，是粿条和豆芽真的怡保出产的会更胜一筹😆

My buddy knows I’m really into coffee, so he told me if I’m ever in Butterworth, I gotta try the coffee and toasted bread at Luan Fong Kopitiam.

Today I happened to be in Bukit Mertajam for some errands, so I made a special trip to Luan Fong around noon. This place has been run by Hainanese folks since 1958!

Both their black coffee and the regular sweet milk coffee were seriously good - or maybe it’s just that they totally hit the spot for me 😄

Their roti kahwin - toasted bread with both kaya and butter was simple but perfect with the coffee 👍🏻😋 I also tried their “egg on toast” (黄金屋上有太阳… such a fancy name, lol) and it was delicious too 😆

I even stretched my stomach further and tried their fried chicken, stir-fried minced meat with egg and preserved radish, plus braised tofu with peanuts. Everything was pretty good. Oh, and I also ordered a bowl of beef kueh teow soup from the beef noodle stall next door (阿河牛肉粿条店Meng Chai Kopitiam, since 1960) and ate it right at Luan Fong. The broth was light and sweet - no heavy MSG taste, which was a plus 👍🏻 Although I have to say, when it comes to kueh teow and bean sprouts, the ones from Ipoh are still unbeatable 😂

So yeah - if you happen to be around, don’t miss it. If you haven’t been here before, give it a try and see if it suits your taste ☺️ Btw, I noticed all three major ethnic groups in Malaysia come here - always a good sign! 👍🏻😊

瓜地马拉 (Guatemala) Ron Zacapa 朗姆酒 vs 台湾威士忌Kavalan 堡典单一麦芽Podium Single Malt Whisky.

瓜地马拉的朗姆酒带有甘蔗的香甜味；而台湾的Kavalan Podium极富香草与奶油糖果和太妃糖的香甜味，假如二选一个人口味我会选择Kavalan Podium😆🥃
