Right after covid, I had the privilege to direct the first 3 episodes of a motorcycle documentary series for TVS shot at Sabah & Sarawak, hosted by Muddy Butt, Tiny Jen & Silas Dema Michael. Our team has fun throughout the shoot, and today we found out that the documentary won silver at the Spotlight Documentary Awards.

So here is episode 2 of Dive & Discover Borneo hosted by Chris克力斯. As you guys have seen episdoe 1 where we went to the turtle island at Talang Satang and dove around Kuching waters. This episode we showcase two beautiful ship wrecks at Kuching and Miri, the Katori Maru and Kenyalang wreck.

What an incredible journey we had together with this bunch up to the day we finally gathered for Yee I-Lann’s book, “The Sun Will Rise From The East” launching at Ilham Gallery.

I’m honoured to be part of the team that contributed to this book, the films and to be able to finally see the artworks displayed here, in front of my own eyes.

We all stood here on the mat also to honour and represent the Bajau weavers who cannot be here; Budi, Darwisa, Sannah, Dela and many others. Tq so so much I-Lann for trusting me in this project and putting every one of us in the limelight.

Also during this trip I able to make some new friends and and meet up with a few old ones; Madeleine Ella Proud whom I haven’t met in 15 years! My schoolmate Christopher Chen who brought me to the best cendol stall. Pital at Rumah Lukis and Chong See Ming. Getting to know the talented chronographer Azizan and Nazri from Tagaps Dance Theatre.

Macro-heaven Mabul and world-renowned dive-site Sipadan are the focus of Episode 5 of 'Dive & Discover Borneo'. Need we say more?
Let our host Chris克力斯 take you on a journey in the underwater world.

Our meeting with an underwater tornado—the kind we welcome, teeming with Barracudas, or rather, made of Barracudas—was one of the episode's highlights. It was exhausting to pursue them against the currents, but it was worthwhile in the end.

Once again special thanks to Uncle Chang's Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge of their dive team and their hospitality through out our shoot at their resort.

For all the riders & motorcycle enthusiasts, if you're thinking of embarking on a Borneon road-trip, tune in to channel 122 Astro (TVS) for 'Ride Your Story', a travelogue we made and was produced by Borneo Demand Productions. You might get some ideas!

Episode 5 will premiere tomorrow at 10:30AM (6th Feb 2023).

Catch female rider Jia Yi and her co-host SIlas burning rubber for 6 long hours from the City of Cats, up north-east to Kanowit, where they danced, ate & "yamseng-ed" with the local community of Benjamin Angki's Longhouse.

They broke bread with fellow riders along the way, and were spoiled with yet even more exquisite delicacies during their visit to Lamin Dana.

Undoubtedly, food is Sarawak's love language.

Episode 4 of 'Dive & Discover Borneo' will be featured on TVS TV (Astro Channel 122) tomorrow at 11:30PM.

This particular episode is unique and a special one for us as our team had the opportunity to venture deep inside Sipadan Island's Turtle Cavern.

The Turtle Cavern's entrance is 21 metres underwater and is also known as Turtle Tomb, as the testudines often find themselves entering the caves and losing their way, eventually meeting their demise.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Uncle Chang's Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge's course director Roihan Han for taking our host Chris Kho under his wing and being an awesome sifu during Chris' enrolment to his cave diving & side-mount training.

Many thanks as well to UDive's course director Steven Sim Shyh Jye for teaching our host the art of free-diving, which will be featured in this 4th episode.

We hope you can tune in and witness the beauty of the ocean as we had, and enjoy the second-hand experience this series has to offer. Who knows, maybe we'd even see a few more adventurers getting licensed this year!

During our trip to Omadal with artist/art director Yee I-Lann, we were given the chance to connect, sit and feast with the wonderful community that lived on the island and off the coast.

They led a minimalist lifestyle yet exist in a complex situation, and are working to create a self-sustaining economy for themselves that would compliment their sharp, business-oriented minds.
