2025 has literally flown by - probably because we have been busy with so many exciting productions this year.

The year started with two exciting jungle projects, BBC Home Asia in Sarawak and Humble Bee Films - Moon/Nature’s Secret Force in Langkawi, with the very elusive colugo.

We then had numerous shoots, both underwater and on land, for a very exciting production for Freeborne /Disney/Nat Geo, which we cannot say much about but has kept most of the Scubazoo team busy most of the year.

We also had the lovely ABC team here in Sabah filming at Danau Girang Field Centre for Dr. Ann’s Secret Lives.

The amazing team from Wildstar Films also kept us busy with a long shoot in Danum Valley and a few smaller shoots in both Sabah and Sarawak - hopefully we get to see the finished film in 2026!

As always, it’s been a pleasure working alongside all the local organisations, Sabah Wildlife Department, Sabah Parks, and Sabah Forestry - their support and assistance is always highly appreciated.

Scubazoo is always grateful to work alongside so many talented crews, and we look forward to more exciting projects in 2026!

Moon: Nature's Secret Force (Wild Side of the Moon) will premiere on Sky TV on Sunday, 30th November, and at the same time, the whole series will drop on NOW TV.

This truly is a unique series - the only one ever to look at how our moon influences animal behaviour on our planet.

Scubazoo are very proud to have been the Malaysian fixers and worked alongside such a fab crew - we cannot wait to see the colugo in action.

Huge congratulations to Wildstar Films for taking home the Limited Series Award at Jackson Wild for Underdogs.

It is great to see this series rewarded for a different approach to wildlife documentaries, concentrating on the misfits, having lots of humour and amazing filming techniques.

The proboscis monkey sequence was hilarious and it was a huge honour for us (Scubazoo) to be the fixers here in Borneo to help create that - having a great team that know all the best spots was critical, Franco Duing and Osman.

It was also a pleasure for our CEO, Jason Isley to assist Roger Munns in filming the hairy frogfish sequence in Lembeh - the storytelling was fantastic. More great colleagues Joe Faithfull & Steve & Miranda (Dive into Lembeh).

Happy National Wildlife Day!

Today, we celebrate the incredible diversity of life on our planet and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect it. It’s a day to appreciate the wild wonders that surround us, from the mighty whales in the ocean depths to the tiniest insects in our backyards.

While we celebrate, let's also shine a light on one of the world's most unique and vulnerable creatures: the pangolin. Often called the "scaly anteater," these shy, solitary mammals are a crucial part of their ecosystems, yet they are the most illegally trafficked mammals in the world. Their scales, made of keratin just like our fingernails, are highly sought after in illegal wildlife trade.
