The World Record for "THE LARGEST BAGURUMBA FOLK DANCE’’ involved more than 10,000 participants and was achieved by the Bodo community artists (India) on 17 January 2026 at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
Bagurumba, a sacred folk dance of the Bodo people deeply inspired by the fluttering butterflies, flowing rivers, and vibrant rhythms of nature, symbolizes harmony with the earth and ancestral wisdom. This monumental synchronized performance not only etched a historic world record but also reignited a global celebration of indigenous heritage, motivating old and young alike to preserve and pass on these timeless traditions for generations to come.
