I spoke to a group of parents and one of the slides I showed is how your child's brain and body affect their behavior and will also affect how you connect with them.
As parents, kailangan niyo pong maintindihan na ang brain ng bata ay iba sa adult brain. Children are still developing the logical side of their brain and they are still reacting from the emotional side of it. So tantrums are a part of a young child's way to try to regulate their emotions. WE are their co-regulators and they look to us as their model in emotion regulation.
We also need to understand that your child's bodily functions are important in behavior development. Kapag umiiyak ang baby , hindi po ba chinecheck natin kung gutom o nakapagpahinga na? Ganun din po sila paglaki. Behavior can be difficult if they're hungry or tired. or sick. Check if they have eaten or if they are getting adequate sleep first. Because most of the time, the behavior gets better when these are addressed.
Remember that your child , like you, is a complex system. Many factors are involved in their behavior. And it is our job as parents to help them figure out how all these factors fit together for better development.
