🏠 Rental Tip: When to Pay the 3+1 Deposit?

It's common practice to pay the full 3+1 deposit closer to your move-in date, not 2 months ahead. Usually, tenants pay a **1-month earnest deposit** to reserve the unit, and the balance is collected when the **tenancy agreement is signed**, typically 1–2 weeks before moving in.

Before paying the full 3+1 rental deposit months in advance, make sure you've received a **formal offer/Agreement to Rent (ATR)** and that the move-in timeline is clearly stated. Some landlords may request full payment upfront to secure the unit, but terms can vary.
