MALACAÑANG: FLOOD CONTROL PROBE STARTED WITH MARCOS

Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that President Bongbong Marcos would not have initiated an investigation into alleged anomalous flood control projects if he were involved in them.

“Ang Pangulo lamang ang kauna-unahang Pangulo na nagpapaimbestiga mismo ng mga maanomalyang flood control project sa ilalim ng kanyang administrasyon,” Castro said in a press briefing on September 26, 2025.

JUST IN: The International Criminal Court (ICC) formally charged former President Rodrigo Duterte with three counts of murder as crimes against humanity, according to documents released Monday midnight. The charges directly link him to extrajudicial killings under the Davao Death Squad and his war on drugs.

Prosecutors hold Duterte criminally liable for murders in Davao City between 2013–2016 as mayor, the killings of “high-value targets” nationwide from 2016–2019, and murders and attempted murders during barangay clearance operations under his presidency.

The filing also names co-perpetrators, including members of the Philippine National Police and high-ranking officials, for killings carried out between 2011–2019. These crimes are pursued under Article 7 of the Rome Statute.

ICC’s pre-trial chamber is yet to schedule a hearing, after the scheduled Sept. 23 trial to confirm the charges was postponed over health issues.
