“Pai Gia” in Hokkien means “bad person”. However, “Pai” in Chinese means “shoot”. We are waiting the one who can damp down our great enthusiasm in this industry.

Hiking while filming is physically demanding, but fortunately, the entire team is super fit!

is a national athlete and military personnel, and his disciplined training really shows. When we were trying to showcase the heart rate feature on the watch, we wanted the numbers to go a bit higher, but while the rest of us were out of breath, Saddam’s heart rate stayed like if he were just taking a casual walk. Data truly doesn’t lie!

Thank you to and for the opportunity, and to the hardworking crew. It was a great experience hiking and working out with everyone!

It was a great pleasure to meet the national 800m runner Wan Muhammad Fazri Wan Zahari. Wan is young and full of spirit. During filming, he never complained even with his heels worn out, really embodying the spirit of an athlete.

We hope that Wan’s hard work will take him to a bigger stage, bringing pride to Malaysia. At the same time, we wish him good health and all the best in his journey.

Many many thanks to Amazfit and Evorise for their trust and the opportunity, as well to everyone working behind the scenes.

《由岛至岛》纪录片｜观后感

以台湾籍日本兵的视角，口述在第二次世界大战的历史记忆。

290分钟的片长，接近5个小时。
再加上过后导演的Q&A环节，差不多6个小时的内容都充斥着我的脑海，现在要summary出来有点不容易。我觉得导演真的很了解这段历史，也对这段历史很有心，整部片子导演要带出来的核心很明确，也很简单，就是认为我们有「记忆的责任」。

这段历史已经发生了，不是想要你怎么样，但是你有责任去记住它。

廖克发导演在《无本》杂志里的访谈有提到过，大概是说，“历史是由碎片组成，不是中央决定的”，所以导演很重视从个体出发，这些个体在口述当时候的情景，让观众自己去看，去思考。

我们是在韩新学院场看《由岛至岛》的，他们有安排在2个小时左右中场休息，15分钟后才继续看下半场。

导演有分享，原本这部片他是做2个小时左右的版本，导演有给他身边的一些台湾年轻人看，结果那些年轻人看了之后很生气。这2个小时的内容会比较偏向于日本兵是加害者，他们原本的认知是这些台籍日本兵是受害者，兵也只是听从指令，所以当看到这个认知被推翻的时候，就生气。有个年轻人很生气地问他，“你想要讲什么？你给我看这个是想表达什么？”
所以过后导演才会做出这5个小时的版本。

Btw其实如果我只看前面2个小时的话，我也会有这种疑问，“导演，你想要大家看了这个片子有什么感觉？台湾观众看了会愤怒吧，你好像就是想讲他们是加害者而已。”

再接着看后面的时候，就可以看到导演的立场了。他很纯粹觉得这段历史需要被记忆，需要被看见，为什么没有人去谈它？

后半段可以看到，日本有位学者，高岛先生，他每年带「和平团」，团员是一些日本的年轻人。高岛先生带他们去见受害者，去打理受害者的墓碑，去认识真相，去承担这份悲痛的情感。如果没有《由岛至岛》，我还真的不知道有这样的人和事。

导演有强调，我们是生活在和平时代的人，我们绝对没有资格去批判这些必须经历战争，努力存活下来的人，他们有什么情绪，有什么反应，我们都没有资格批评。我超级认同。

当中有几个受访者我都印象挺深刻，听他们描述的时候我眼眶也泛泪。1个是森美兰新村，灭村行动的幸存者，是那边的老村长，才刚开始问，他崩溃大哭了。他没办法言说，他就哭而已，我光是看了也好想哭。

还有1个是1个80多岁的婆婆，事情发生的时候她8岁，她亲眼看着日军怎样残杀她的亲人，口述的时候，她说：“只要我一天还没死，我都会记在心里，现在给我看到他们的孩子，我都敢做他。“

事实证明这种事情，真的不是说隔了那么多年，就能原谅的，更不可能忘怀，我们需要去接住他们。这个也是我觉得导演厉害的地方，让这些人重述当时候的情况，重新回忆，就是2次伤害，相信导演也会觉得难受，要怎么样在顾及他们的情绪的情况下去完成这部纪录片，也很考验导演「身而为人」的功力。

导演在整个访谈都很能讲，他去过冲绳播映过，过后也有安排会去广岛播映，就你能想象吗？他要在日本播映这样的纪录片，导演真的是走进去1个地方，准备颠覆别人的认知，观众会有什么反应，他都要准备迎接。

导演他在创作不流于风格化，可以看到他身上对于社会议题的关注度，对于事情的批判能力，这样的角度出发也是我们在追崇的。整个纪录片分享会，我只能讲真的是收获满满。最后，谢谢韩新学院 X 隆雪华堂民权委员会 X Agora Society Malaysia 主办这场分享会，太棒了。
