South Brooks, Desa ParkCity — More Than Just a Place to Live

There’s something interesting about South Brooks.

You don't immediately fall in love with it because of a grand entrance or a flashy lobby.

You notice it differently.

Maybe it's the way the morning feels when you walk around the neighbourhood.
Maybe it's seeing families out with their dogs.
Maybe it's a short walk to the park, a meal nearby, or children cycling around without everyone rushing somewhere.

And slowly, you realise — this is what people are actually paying for.
Not just a condominium.

A lifestyle.

South Brooks sits within Desa ParkCity, a township that has always been designed around the idea that a neighbourhood should feel like a community rather than simply a collection of buildings.

That makes South Brooks quite different from many city condominiums.

You can have a beautiful home, but what happens when you step outside?

Here, your "outside" is part of the experience.
The parks.
The walking paths.
The neighbourhood shops.
The cafés.
The lake.
The people.

Everything is close enough to make daily life a little easier — and perhaps a little slower.

And I think that's the part many people overlook when they compare properties.

They compare built-up size.

They compare price per square foot.

They compare facilities.

But sometimes, the better question is:
"What kind of life will I have after I close my front door?"

For some families, South Brooks makes sense precisely because life doesn't have to feel like a daily commute between home, work, school and everything else.

You come home, and the neighbourhood is already there.

Perhaps that's the real value of South Brooks.

Not simply having a home in Desa ParkCity.

But having a place where life happens around your home, too.

And maybe that's why, after all these years, Desa ParkCity continues to attract people who are looking for something beyond just a property.

They are looking for somewhere that feels like home.

South Brooks, Desa ParkCity.

A condominium — yes.

But perhaps more importantly, a piece of a neighbourhood.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to go faster — achieve faster, earn faster, succeed faster.

But maybe life isn’t a race to see who gets there first.

Sometimes, slowing down means you’re finally paying attention to what really matters.

You don’t have to be the fastest. You just have to live a life that feels right for you.

When I tell people I'm from a law background, they look surprised. "What made you come to real estate industry?"

Deep down, honestly, it's a regret for me. I didn't finish my degree. I just got my diploma and went straight to work in a law firm as a conveyancing clerk.

Some regrets we carry through life without even realising it. Because of that regret, deep inside I always felt I wasn't good enough. So I kept working, and working, until I got burned out from a corporate job. That was when I stopped chasing titles and worldly success. I started to shift how I saw my job as a real estate negotiator — I want to help sellers sell their house, and help buyers get their home.

I get stuck here and there at times. With zero sales in a year, I asked myself: is my direction wrong? I still have no answer. But I will keep trying. After all, I have so many people and clients who trust my service. Let's reset and start again.

**When "Fair" Doesn't Feel Right**

A few weeks ago, I walked away from a deal.

It was a bungalow in Bandar Puteri. A buyer was ready. But the broker behind it wasn't licensed — he'd slipped into the deal midway, pushing the price down over 15% below market value. I said no, and let it go.

My colleague looked at me, puzzled. "Why not? Willing seller, willing buyer. That's the market."

She wasn't wrong. And that's what stayed with me.

Around the same time, I watched Desa ParkCity prices climb — driven by buyers chasing buyers, not by anything the bricks and land had changed. And I found myself asking: what is a property really worth? Is it the number two people agree to in a moment? Or something steadier than that?

I don't have a clean answer. But that conversation changed how I see this industry. Every deal I close isn't just a transaction — it's a number that tells a family, a seller, a market, what their home is worth. I'd rather walk away from an easy deal than build my name on one that doesn't sit right.

**What's a fair price, really — one both sides agree to, or one that reflects true value? I'd love to hear how you see it.** 👇
