MFTBC unveiled two concept models at JMS 2025, the “H2IC,” a heavy-duty truck powered by an internal combustion engine that combusts hydrogen, and the “H2FC,” a heavy-duty truck powered by a fuel cell system. MFTBC believes hydrogen is an effective means to achieve carbon neutrality for commercial vehicles involved in heavy-duty transport and long-distance haulage, owing to its high energy content, long range, and short refueling time.

Asian Trucker was on site to have a first look at these trucks.

KL Hop-On Hop-Off Rolls Out 2026 Fleet

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), in partnership with Visit KL and Visit Malaysia 2026, unveiled the 2026 calendar at Jalan Tangsi while launching an upgraded KL Hop-On Hop-Off bus service. Asian Trucker attended the event, witnessing the launch and gaining firsthand insights into the refreshed initiative, which aims to position Kuala Lumpur as a modern, vibrant, and tourist-friendly city ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

The new fleet features six open-top double-decker buses, purpose-built to enhance sightseeing and passenger comfort. Each bus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and AI-powered commentary available in multiple languages, enabling passengers to explore and learn about the city’s landmarks, heritage sites, and popular attractions throughout the journey.

Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, commented: “This demonstrates DBKL’s commitment to strengthen Kuala Lumpur as a tourism hub.”

The launch forms part of a wider strategy to boost tourism by making it easier for both residents and visitors to access the city’s cultural, historical, and commercial districts. The refreshed service emphasises convenience, accessibility, and a more engaging visitor experience, while also showcasing Kuala Lumpur’s readiness to welcome increased tourism activity in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026.

The KL Hop-On Hop-Off service highlights a coordinated effort between government agencies and tourism operators to modernise public transport offerings, improve city connectivity, and raise Kuala Lumpur’s profile as a must-visit destination for local and international travelers alike.

Hino Expands Service Network with New HASO in Subang Jaya
Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) has partnered with Soon Seng Truck & Parts Sdn Bhd (SSTP) to launch a new Hino Approved Service Outlet (HASO) under the 3S model in Subang Jaya. The facility provides comprehensive maintenance and repair services for Hino commercial vehicles, offering greater convenience to operators in Subang Jaya and the surrounding industrial zones.

The Subang Jaya HASO spans 20 000 sq ft and features 17 service bays equipped to handle a wide range of maintenance and repair work efficiently. It is supported by 15 workshop staff, including foremen, mechanics, clerks, and apprentices, and four dedicated parts staff maintaining a stock of genuine Hino parts. Customers have access to a waiting lounge with Wi-Fi, refreshments, and a prayer room.

The grand opening was attended by Hino Malaysia executives, including Managing Director Mr Hiroshi Takahashi, Director Mr Ahmad Yasmin Yahya, and Chief Operating Officer Mr Chan Ing Chyi. Representing SSTP were Samson Chan Kok Sing, After Sales Director, Edmund Chan Han Leong, Business Development Director, and General Manager Mr Ling Kui Loong.

Asian Trucker attended the opening and observed the emphasis on structured technician training, advanced diagnostics, and transparent communication. It was evident how the service bays are organised for smooth vehicle turnaround, and operators present commented on the convenience of having a certified Hino facility nearby.

Hino and SSTP share a partnership spanning more than 50 years, beginning in 1974 as an authorised Hino spare parts distributor in Seremban. SSTP expanded with a 3S centre in Nilai in 2008, and later established a branch in Balakong. The Subang Jaya HASO represents the latest milestone in this long-standing collaboration.
HMSM Managing Director Hiroshi Takahashi said: “This new HASO is another important step for Hino Malaysia to bring our services closer to customers. Especially in busy industrial areas like Subang Jaya, this outlet will help every Hino customer enjoy quick, reliable, and professional support.”

Looking ahead, SSTP plans to further strengthen its after-sales network through technician upskilling, advanced diagnostics systems, and smart parts inventory planning to ensure seamless service support.
