Malaysian National News Agency or Pertubuhan Berita Nasional Malaysia (BERNAMA) is a news agency of the government of Malaysia. It is a statutory body placed under the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia. Set up under the Act of Parliament in 1967, BERNAMA was established on 30 August 1967 and began operations on 20 May 1968. BERNAMA operates from its headquarters at Wisma Bernama, Off Jalan

BERNAMA now has over 700 employees including more than 400 journalists, editors, photojournalists and video cameramen at its headquarters and bureau in all the states in Malaysia. It also has correspondents in Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok. Bernama began reporting using the audio-visual medium with the opening of its audio-visual division in September 1998. It also has its radio, named BERNAMA Radio, which operates a 24-hour business radio station broadcasting in Klang Valley, Johor Bharu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. BERNAMA’s role as a source of reliable and current news is well known among the local and international media. Equipped with the latest technology and news production mechanism, BERNAMA TV is poised to be a wellspring of credible and trusted news, recognized by local and foreign organisations including government organisations, companies, universities and non-governmental organisations. Apart from news bulletins, the network's other programmes include Mid-Day Update (synopsis of daily news), Koresponden Bernama (current issue in ASEAN), The Nation (English talk show), Malaysia Petang Ini (current update in the country) and its flagship programme 'Ruang Bicara' (current affairs talk show in Malay). Other programmes are Refleksi Minda (motivational dialogue), Borak Kosong (viral issues talk show), and ON e (entertainment news magazine) and Darah Muda (current issues involving millennial). Meanwhile, for digital talk show include Cucuk Duit (money management talk show). BERNAMA TV always strives to serve all audiences through its high quality and accurate news reports. Our Story

BERNAMA TV operates from its headquarters located at Wisma Bernama next to the National Library, Kuala Lumpur.

Initially called Audio Visual unit, it began operation on 1 September 1998, and expanded into Bernama TV on 28 February 2008 while continue reporting more news through its audio visual platform.

BERNAMA TV is a subsidiary of the Malaysian National News Agency or Pertubuhan Berita Nasional Malaysia (BERNAMA), under the purview of Ministry of Communications and Multimedia. Bernama was set up under the Act of Parliament in 1967 and began its operations in May 1968.

BERNAMA TV which was once known as ‘Bernama News Channel’ (BNC) from 25 May 2016 until mid October 2019, functions as the official news and information channel for all Malaysians. Equipped with the latest technology and news production mechanism, Bernama via Bernama TV, is poised to be a wellspring of credible and trusted news, recognized by local and foreign organisations including government organisations, corporate bodies, academic institutions and non-governmental organisations.
