The “GM1” plate hit RM1.3 million in the final 30 minutes of bidding 😱 making into the top 2 of the most expensive plates in Malaysia, surpassing the RM1.2 million paid for “FF1”.

Fun fact: GM stands for Gemilang Malaysia 🇲🇾

Starting 30 Sept 2025, Malaysians can enjoy RON95 petrol at RM1.99/L. (Capped at 300L per month)

All Malaysian citizens with a valid MyKad and a valid driving license able to enjoy this benefit under BUDI95 programme. A quota of 300 litres per month applies, but e-hailing drivers can apply for a higher value.

The subsidy is linked to MyKad, and payment can also be made via Petronas’ Setel and Shell App.

Non-citizens or without MyKad (or with a faulty chip), the petrol price will remain at RM2.60/L.

Starting end of September, RON95 petrol subsidy will only be available with a valid MyKad.

💳 Insert MyKad with working chip= RM1.99/L
⛽ No card / faulty chip = RM2.60/L

Make sure your MyKad chip is still working, or you’ll end up paying more at the pump.
