AIBD/WHO Regional Webinar on Road Safety Reporting:Community Voices and Grassroots Road Safety Movements

Road safety stories aren’t only about crashes and statistics. They’re about people. Families, survivors, young activists, and communities pushing for safer streets, often long before policymakers act.

On 18 December, AIBD, together with the World Health Organization (WHO), is hosting the final webinar in its regional Road Safety Reporting series. This session focuses on people-centred storytelling and how journalists can report on community-led road safety action.

Journalists will look at grassroots campaigns, survivor networks, community media movements, and civil society initiatives, and learn how to bring lived experiences into their reporting to raise public awareness and spark policy attention.

The session draws on WHO’s Safe Systems Approach and Solutions Journalism practices to support reporting that reflects real voices and real change.

Strong stories start with people. Let’s tell road safety stories that matter, one community at a time.
