The 7th World Gourmet 2025 Awards, hosted for the first time internationally in Guangzhou, China, marks a significant milestone in bringing the global culinary community together for networking, cultural exchange, and industry collaboration.
Held on 20 November 2025 at the prestigious 5-star Shangri-La Hotel Guangzhou, the World Top Gourmet Awards celebrated more than 80 outstanding individuals and brands in the food and beverage industry. This year’s event also supported Tourism Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia Year 2026 initiative, strengthening cross-border ties through gastronomy and culture.
Alongside global culinary recognitions such as the World Culinary Awards and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the World Top Gourmet Awards continues to elevate the standards of excellence across the hospitality and dining landscape.
Purpose of the Awards
* To recognize and celebrate excellence in the global food and beverage sector.
* To support and promote Malaysia as a premier tourist destination in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
A total of 80 distinguished award recipients—including chefs, restaurateurs, and F&B brands from around the world—were honored. Notable presenters included:
WorldClass MasterChef Martin Yan, based in Los Angeles and born in Guangzhou
Chef Jeffrey Tan from Australia
Chef Thomas Gugler from the UAE
Awardees represented countries such as France, Italy, Australia, the United States, Korea, and many more.
**Beyond an Award Ceremony**
The event was more than just a presentation of accolades. Participants also engaged in the World Gourmet Exchange Summit, featuring insightful discussions on culinary trends, F&B innovation, and cross-cultural learning. Guests experienced private culinary showcases by Guangzhou’s emerging talent chefs, followed by an exclusive Guangzhou food and city tour extending into the following week.
