My turn for an appreciation post!
Finally, I can post my WCS 2025 appreciation post after clearing my other pending one 😆
When Noizu first hosted WCS Prelim Malaysia in 2022, the stage was small, and the event flow was a bit messy. But the organizers worked so hard to improve holding multiple post-mortems, listening to feedback, and refining things year after year.
Fast forward to now, just three years later and I’m genuinely proud of how far our WCS event has come. It’s fun, well-coordinated, and contestant-friendly.
We make sure participants have proper dry-run time, a big stage, lighting arrangements similar to WCS Japan, and even a dedicated event space to set up their backdrops. We’ve been doing our best to replicate that authentic Japan WCS experience here in Malaysia and that’s a huge leap in just three years!
The event flow this year was so smooth. Everyone’s roles were clear judges, observers, overseers, and coaches and the Noizu crew worked incredibly hard behind the scenes. You guys should be really proud of yourselves!
We also had amazing guests from PH, ID, KR, RU, and JP this year, and they were so impressed by our event quality, contestants, and the hospitality we showed. The event might not be perfect, but it tells a powerful story, one of how much we’ve grown together.
Now, about our contestants. I had the privilege of going to WCS Indonesia this year with Rikka before, and we were so amazed by their performance and how everyone mingled and networked with each other. It really gave me that “WCS Japan vibe.”
And this year, I saw that same spirit here in Malaysia. Not only has the overall contestant quality improved so much, but I also hope everyone gained valuable experiences, from one another, our guests, and the whole event itself.
Our eight judges deliberated for a long time for the result with barely any rest, but that’s because every one of you deserved the time and effort. Each contestant brought something special, and while only one team will represent Malaysia, many of you truly captured our hearts in your own way.
I hope this energy and spirit continue next year too!
