Mental health Journaling & Reflection Workshop for today ❤

Today I conducted a mental health workshop, and the responses from the students truly shocked me. I asked three simple questions, and the majority had the same answers:

1. What makes you very sad?
➝ “Being bullied.”

2. What is your biggest fear?
➝ “Seeing myself in the mirror.” (This broke my heart — the level of self-image trauma is very serious.)

3. What makes you angry?
➝ “Getting bullied.”

Most of these answers came from boys.
It made me realise how deeply traumatized they actually are.

When I asked them, “What will be your reaction if someone bullies you?”
Their answers were terrifying: “Suicide.” and “Revenge.”

This is not something we can ignore.
Parents and teachers must take this seriously.

Today, I guided them on how to manage their emotions and handle bullying — but it also made me think:
What about the ones who are bullying others? Who is guiding them? Who is responsible for correcting their behaviour before it destroys someone’s life?

P/S. We will be conducting Program Back to School next month. Providing kids with free uniforms, shoes, bags & etc. So for contributiMelaka

💪🏻 BILA LELAKI *HARDWORK* _(+HEARTWORK)_

Orang lelaki ni… bukan kerjanya nak marah je memanjang.
Kadang-kadang cuma nak cakap:

“Aku sebenarnya… letih je.” 🙏🏻

Akhirnya — diam. *Pendam.*
*“Settle dalam”* je lah. 🙇🏻‍♂️

Every big change begins with a small step. I believe that when men come together, even small efforts can spark a better society. So take a moment, place your hand on your heart, and ask yourself: Does the voice of men matter?

Yes, communities suffer. Not from the echoes of broken men’s rage, but from the insufficient voices of healed men. These words reflect a reality - the sharp rise in social issues involving men, and the urgent need for men themselves to create a safe space where they can be heard, supported, and guided towards intervention.🫴🏻

'Suara Lelaki: A Safe Space to Be Heard, Support & Grow'❤️‍🩹🌿– This free dialogue series conducted in Malay language brings together men aged 25 to 65, from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, with a focus on men’s mental health: emotion management and perspective.

✳️It is a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for men to express their feelings, share experiences, and learn from one another.

💡Taking into account cultural and religious sensitivities, this program aims to provide a platform to address root issues such as emotional suppression, mental stress, uncontrolled anger, childhood trauma, absence of father figures, addiction, social isolation, mental health stigma, and toxic masculinity — challenges that increasingly affect men, especially young men, across faiths, cultures, races, and borders.

📚Through a combination of storytelling, dialogue, emotional literacy, psychological approaches, and moral values, the mission of this program is to break toxic masculine norms and build a new narrative that supports healthy self-development for men in Malaysia — and eventually across Asia and beyond. An empowered man uplifts, empowers, and protects the women around him: embodying the true meaning of strength and of life itself.

Source : Goody Malaysia & MyNewsHub

Historic moment where a powerful Tamil Genocide Monument has been unveiled on Saturday 10th May in Brampton, Canada. Standing tall to honour the victims and preserve their memory for generations to come.

The monument honours the memory of the Tamil victims in the massacres of Sri Lanka between 1983 and 2009.

Eelam Tamils across the globe will commemorate the 16th anniversary of the Tamil genocide on the 18th May, known as Mullivaikal Remembrance Day.

The monument is an initiative led by the National Council of Canadians Tamils (NCCT), in partnership with Brampton Tamil Assocation, the City of Brampton and many other Tamil community organisations. Special appreciation to MPP - Scarborough.

The 4.8 metre tall stainless steel monument features an outline of Tamil Eelam, the historical homeland of Tamil people on the Indian Ocean island. The surrounding pillars feature details about the decades of war and genocide.

The monument is the result of a design competition, with the build and maintenance of the monument funded by donations from the Tamil community. The memorial is estimated to have cost $150,000.

Statement from Hon Gary Anandasangaree - Minister for Justice and Attorney-General of Canada

“Today’s opening of the Tamil Genocide Monument in Brampton marks a significant moment in our collective history.

This monument stands as a memorial to the thousands of innocent lives that were taken during the Sri Lankan government’s genocide against the Tamil people.

It also honours the strength and resilience of Tamil communities around the world, whose dedicated advocacy has brought us to this moment.

I would like to thank the National Council of Canadian Tamils - NCCT, the Brampton Tamil Association - Canada, Mayor Patrick Brown, and all those who fought to ensure our stories are never forgotten.

As we continue to call for justice for these atrocities, let us stand strong, and let us stand together.”

That’s sad to read, and it happened on Mother’s Day! The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) had to sedate a mother elephant who refused to leave her calf for over five hours after it was struck and pinned under a truck along the Jalan Gerik-Jeli federal route.

The calf did not survive the crash. With the mother refusing to leave and posing a danger to road users, Perhilitan officials sedated her before safely escorting her away.

Perak Perhilitan director Yusoff Shariff said the department was informed of the incident about 3.30am.

He said that by 11.30am, Perhilitan personnel had managed to remove the carcass of the calf, believed to be a five-year-old male.

"For the safety of our personnel and the public, we had to relocate the mother elephant away from the crash site," he said.

"We had no choice but to use a sedative and pull her back into the forest with a four-wheel drive vehicle around 9am.

"The removal of the calf's carcass took some time as a tow truck and bulldozer were needed to lift and bury it," he told Harian Metro.

Earlier, a video had gone viral showing an adult elephant, the calf's mother, standing guard over her young, that was pinned under the lorry.

The mother elephant could be seen trying to push the lorry with her head in a desperate attempt to save her calf.
