Terbaharu, Palestin kehilangan seorang tokoh aktivis yang amat dikenali dan disayangi ramai, Awdah Hathleen.

Menurut laporan Al Jazeera, Hathleen yang merupakan sebahagian daripada kru dokumentari No Other Land, telah ditembak mati oleh seorang peneroka Israel.

Dia telah ditembak pada bahagian dada ketika berdiri di sebalik pagar di pusat komuniti Umm al-Kheir pada Isnin (27 Julai) lalu.

Lelaki berusia 31 tahun itu kemudiannya dibawa pergi oleh sebuah ambulans yang datang dari penempatan haram Carmel.

In 1963, a quiet revolution took place inside a Polaroid lab. Chief chemist Howard G. Rogers stood among shelves stacked with over 5,000 bottles—each one representing a different chemical formula, each one a failed or near-successful attempt to unlock a dream: instant color photography.

At the time, taking a color photograph wasn’t simple. You had to shoot, wait, develop, and hope it turned out right. But Rogers and his team believed that color—the vivid, vibrant kind you see in life—deserved to be captured in an instant. So they worked. Tirelessly. Meticulously. Patiently. Thousands of test batches, each one a whisper of progress.

And then, after years of trial and error, they cracked it. In 1963, Polaroid released the first instant color film. You could snap a photo, shake the film, and watch it bloom to life in minutes—no darkroom, no lab, just magic in your hand. That moment changed photography forever.

Behind that “instant magic” was science, sacrifice, and a team of brilliant minds who believed in bringing color to people’s memories—not later, but now.

Reminder that you can start as a filmmaker at any age. Many of your favorite directors made their debut features in their 40s, 50s, or even 70s. Manoel de Oliveira was 73 when he made his first feature and continued making movies until he was 106. Another filmmaker, Takeo Kimura holds the Guinness record for making his debut feature at 90 years old. There is no time limit on your creativity.
