Bethel Presbyterian Church Singapore 新加坡長老會伯特利堂 Upgrades with GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile System

11 December 2016: The Bethel Presbyterian Church Singapore 新加坡長老會伯特利堂 celebrated its 133rd anniversary this year. Prior to this recent upgrade, the speaker system for the 500 pax seating capacity main sanctuary consisted of 4 units of 12” main speakers with 2 units of 15” subwoofers plus 4 units of 8” satellite speakers. Sound from the main sanctuary was sent to the 300 pax seating capacity annex hall via a unit of high SPL double 15” speaker cabinet. The walls were treated with full fledge fiberwool acoustic panels to absorb the bounces in both the halls.

This year the church took a big leap in total make over for its main sanctuary - those fiberwool acoustic panels were removed and walls were repainted, old electrical wiring grids were replaced with new ones, and audio visual systems upgraded.

GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile technologies and equipments have been chosen for the sound system upgrade. The decision was made after having gone through a series of selection and testing of systems of different makes. This upgrade is necessary to resolve their long-time intelligibility (muffled sound), sound coverage, and howling [unusual Potential Acoustic Gain (PAG) versus Needed Acoustic Gain (NAG)] issues, among others.

The system upgrade consists of:

(a) 2 units of GECKO® REVELATION SR 615RF 15” 2-way full-range C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile long-throw speakers for F.O.H. (main sanctuary);

(b) 2 units of GECKO® REVELATION SR 606R 6.5” 2-way full-range C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile long-throw speakers for stereo stage fill (main sanctuary);

(c) 2 units of GECKO® REVELATION SR 606R 6.5” 2-way full-range C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile long-throw speakers for stereo fill (annex hall);

(d) 1 unit of GECKO® GENESIS ELEGANCE AGE 600H C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile Class-H power amplifier;

(e) 1 unit of GECKO® GENESIS ELEGANCE AGE 900H C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile Class-H power amplifier;

(f) 1 unit of GECKO® EXODUS ODYSSEY MXR 3604L 36-channel C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile mixing console;

(g) 2 units of GECKO® AYERS ROCK DI 200P passive dual channel C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile DI;

(h) 1 set of GECKO® PASSION MP 621W/RP 211U dual handheld wireless microphones system;

(i) 1 set of GECKO® PASSION MP 741H/RP 211U dual headworn/body-pack wireless microphones system;

(j) 2 units of GECKO® SATELLITE SRM 2020 large-diaphragm C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile condenser microphones;

(k) 1 unit of GECKO® SATELLITE SCM 1820S active C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile condenser microphone;

(l) 2 units of GECKO® PASSION MP 830S C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile supercardioid dynamic microphone;

(m) 1 unit of GECKO® X-ROAD GJB 806 professional stage box;

(n) 1 lot of GECKO® TRUTH T2 audiophile speaker cables;

(o) 1 lot of GECKO® TRUTH T3AL audiophile signal cables;

(p) 1 lot of GECKO® OLYMPIAN series audiophile connectors.

With the new GECKO® C.R.I.S.T.A.L.® Audiophile system installed - easy operation, lower maintenance/running cost, clarity, intelligibility, balanced and equal volume coverage has been achieved while meeting OSHA safety standards for health (hearing).
