We went to the worlds biggest water fight in Thailand! It’s called Songkran, and it welcomes in the Thai new year, but also symbolizes the arrival of the wet season. It’s the best festival I’ve ever been to, and the streets were packed with thousands of locals and tourists all shooting the crap out of each other with ice cold water! Good times having on my boat to go for a little explore round Phuket, Thailand! We even found a massive shipwreck that we climbed up onto, moon boot and all! Don’t tell my physio. We made an episode about it on my channel, where we also raced another lagoon 450, and remain unbeaten against any lagoon we have ever raced 💪😆. Life took a serious turn for the worse this weekend when I thought I could play rugby at 40 😅. Snapped my Achilles clean in half, and had to have surgery to join it back together. Was a full rupture which felt like someone had shot me in the heel with a shotgun 😆. The video is post surgery, in the operating room with it connected again.

Going to be a long slow road to recovery, with the surgeon saying I’m going to have to learn to walk again in a few months. Huge thanks to hospital for the 5 star treatment in Bangkok. Rough timing as my boat is hauled out at the moment and access is via a ladder. Anyway, just another bump in the road 🫠

Been a pretty tough month in the shipyard so far, discovering that we had blisters all over the hull of my boat. As usual, the damage is a lot worse than we thought, but we are just taking it one day at a time. We have been through worse, including hurricane damage, broken bulkheads, and 2 lightning strikes so we are well acquainted with the dry dock. Haven’t even gotten round to dealing with the diesel bug we have in our tanks yet, or the slipping Saildrive clutch, so there are many more work episodes to come on our channel. We don’t mind suffering a little bit for your entertainment 🤣
