Happy 75th birthday, our dear YAB Premier Sarawak, whom is affectionately known as Abang Jo by all Sarawakians. A teenager who has personally witnessed the birth of a new nation, namely Sarawak back then on July 22nd 1963 who then joined North Borneo (Sabah today), Malaya & Singapore forming the federation of Malaysia on September 16th 1963 as an equal partner.
Happy Sarawak Day & thank you, Sarawak!!!
Me, as someone who has worked 15 years in Singapore, now bringing my filmmaking talent back to Sarawak - my birthplace. This is the official short documentary film for the most recent Sarawak Day celebrations which were held in Miri city.
Ironically, I used to hate history subject a lot back in my schooling days. I mean A LOT. Unknowingly though… a plot twist has been planted in this script. By producing this documentary, I was truly enjoyed & fascinated by the richness of our Sarawak history. We have fought well, guys. We deserve all the prosperity and abundance that ONLY SARAWAKIANS get to enjoy today in Malaysia.
In this special season of the year, in the month of July (Sarawak Day), August (National Day), September (Malaysia Day) & coincidentally the birthday month of our Premier, Yang Amat Berhormat DATUK PATINGGI TAN SRI (DR) ABANG HAJI ABDUL RAHMAN ZOHARI BIN TUN DATUK ABANG HAJI OPENG, It is indeed the BEST timing to celebrate our identity as a SARAWAKIAN !!!
Therefore, i present to you this special short documentary film to you, to your loved ones & to your next generations to come. Let's give them opportunity to learn more about Sarawak, make them love Sarawak as much as you do.
A very very very special thanks to Dato Sri Lee Kim shin (Minister in charge of the Sarawak Day 2025 celebrations) who has truly entrusted, empowered & guided me throughout the production period & Resident of the Miri Division - Mr Galong Anak Luang & his administration who have kind enough to award me this opportunity to perform & commissioned me to produce this meaningful piece of historical archive by itself.
Thank you all & Happy Sarawak Day once again. Never stop celebrating our success, guys... Help us to spread & share this beautiful story of SARAWAK~
