Welcome to DESIGN SEED!

The heritage landmark that originally opened its doors in 1932 was transformed into a stunning architectural feature.

On a trip to Italy, we got the opportunity to feature the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in the heart of Milan.

Can you imagine using an immaterial and physically inconsistent element to design? That is what Italian architect and designer, Marco Piva accomplished with light here.

Today’s episode on Design Seed, we will be revealing how he created unique hotel spaces that play with volume and light.

Welcome to DESIGN SEED!

As an interior designer and the host of Design Seed, I’m always in search of amazing or inspiring interior design and architecture contents. When I travel across the world, I always look for extraordinary projects to visit. This time around, during our visit to London, we came across this unique project. And that’s what we’re going to share with you today.

Strolling around the streets of London, I managed to peek into the ground level of most of the residential properties but I was always curious what’s on the upper level. Especially curious about what happens on the rooftop.

Ever heard of upside down living? Moving the living areas to the upper floor and bedrooms on the lower floor, this design maximises views, natural light and privacy.

Tucked in a tranquil hill of Maiano in Florence, this heritage tower was where I spent 3 nights of an unimaginable stay. Let me share my experience with all of you!

Welcome to DESIGN SEED!

How would you design your home on a huge piece of land around 170,000 sq ft? When you have so much space, how much of it do you actually live in and use?

Inspired by classical Suzhou gardens, this extraordinary home is a microcosm of the natural world. Composed of a modern luxury private mansion and a separated personal entertainment annex called The Chalet, a flowing koi pond that surrounds the entire 170,000 premises that is a home to a total of 1000 koi fishes, surrounded by lushly curated landscaping.

My name is Alex Lee and I am from Design Seed. On today’s episode, we’re taking you on an exclusive tour of a home in China with stunning landscape design and modern architecture. Join us in our new series to showcase extraordinary homes globally, capturing good designs and sharing their stories.
