There was a time when almost every Malaysian — young and old — was a badminton fan. We never missed a match. Our shuttlers were our heroes. Families even played together, sometimes with the neighbours.

But one night in 1992 was more than just badminton history — it became national history. When Malaysia lifted the Thomas Cup, the whole country celebrated as one.

We are forever grateful to the champions who gave us that moment, to Malaysians everywhere who showed what unity feels like, and to the incredible crew behind this project for helping us relive it.

Special thanks to Datuk Rashid Sidek for sharing his stories, to Devaraj for his wealth of badminton knowledge, and to all of you who’ve shared your own memories of that unforgettable night.

Here’s to another moment of magic, together.

Selamat Hari Kebangsaan & Hari Malaysia.

We followed the same path Cikgu Ben (Ben Zaid) takes to reach his students at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Balar. The road was unforgiving.

But the road isn’t the point.

What matters is why teachers like Cikgu Ben brave it: so that every child in Malaysia — from the most remote villages to the Orang Asli heartlands — gets a fair chance at education, which is key to independence.

Meeting Cikgu Ben, and the teachers inspired by him — Cikgu Luqman, Cikgu Sattiyan, and Cikgu Wei Zi — opened our eyes. In classrooms, we saw eager faces from the Temiar community, and the hope of a brighter Malaysia.

Without teachers, there are no students. And without students, there can be no tomorrow to dream of.

This Merdeka, let’s give thanks to the teachers who shaped us yesterday, and those guiding our children today, to build a stronger, better Malaysia for tomorrow.

And to our crew and everyone who collaborated with us tirelessly on this project: thank you for bringing these stories to life.

Selamat Hari Merdeka and Hari Malaysia.

At Mojo Films, we always focus on the stories that have a heart — and this year’s Raya film by U Mobile, really hit home for us. It’s a story about connection, feeling seen and the power of being heard. It’s about love that transcends words.

We truly believe that every voice matters, and this story is our little love letter to the deaf community — told with as much honesty and heart as we could give.

🌟 Big love to our amazing cast who brought this story to life so beautifully:
✨ Malaeka Humaira binti Saiful Rizal as young Lina
✨ Syel Ramlan as Mak
✨ Nur Ilyia Suhada as Lina
✨ Zamarul Hisham as Abah
✨ Geethanjali as Cikgu
You gave your all, and it shows in every frame. Thank you for carrying the emotional truth of this story with such care and heart.

🎤 A huge shoutout to the wonderful Sharifah Amani, who lent Lina her voice. The way you captured a daughter’s quiet longing — to be heard, to be included, to reconnect — gave us goosebumps. Truly beautiful work.

🎶 And to Izzy Anuar, the singer-songwriter behind Suaraku, your lyrics became Lina’s inner world. Suaraku is about wanting to be heard. About how even in silence, we carry so much inside us. Your song gave this film its soul. Thank you for creating something so moving.

🙏🏽 A heartfelt thanks to Pan Wai Ling, our consultant, and Cikgu Ros, our translator. Your insights, guidance and lived knowledge made sure we told this story in the most respectful and truthful way possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.

This was truly a team effort, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped us bring this story to life.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf zahir dan batin.

Projek Salam, this year’s Raya film by Maybank, isn't your typical tale of triumph over adversity. It's a story about belonging — about a little girl who simply wanted to experience what many of us take for granted. And the beautiful part? It's also about community — the people who came together, wholeheartedly, to make that wish come true.

At the heart of this film is Encik Mohd Tajularif bin Ibrahim, Head Researcher at the University of Malaya, whose voice carried the emotional weight of Balqis’ story with such empathy and grace. His narration reminded us that sometimes, the most powerful gestures come from the heart. Thank you, Encik Tajul, for reminding us that compassion is a force that moves mountains.

We’re also deeply grateful to Dr. Chern Phei Ming, Head of Pediatric Rehabilitation at Hospital Rehabilitasi Cheras, whose guidance and dedication were instrumental in Projek Salam. Together with Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nasrul Anuar Abd Razak and a passionate team of biomedical engineering students from UM — Muhammad Sauqi bin Hasan, Teo Ji Qi, and Amirah Zahra binti Ahmad Sharibi — they helped turn an idea into reality for one very special Raya.

And of course, a heartfelt thank you to Maybank for making Balqis’ dream come true — not just through this film, but through real action and care behind the scenes. This Raya, we’re reminded that humanity isn’t just about grand gestures, but the quiet strength of a community that shows up when it matters most.

Salam Aidilfitri. Maaf zahir dan batin.

Semoga setiap salam yang dihulurkan di pagi Raya membawa keberkatan, kegembiraan, dan makna yang mendalam. Maybank mengucapkan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. ...

Tonight, as we sit down for reunion dinner, let’s celebrate those we call family—in blood and in heart.

This year, we had the great fortune of meeting an incredible family that forms a lion dance troupe. Our heartfelt thanks go to Uncle Tham, whose generosity in sharing his family values and beliefs made this film possible. Uncle Tham's passion and dedication have reminded us that family isn’t just about shared bloodlines—it’s about shared moments of joy, of sadness, and of hope. It’s about unwavering support and unconditional love that binds us together through life’s ups and downs.

And to the amazing kids in the lion dance troupe, you are truly inspiring. Your relentless spirit and positivity have shown us what family is all about. Thank you for teaching us the beauty of togetherness.

We wish everyone a joyful reunion dinner and a wonderful Chinese New Year filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Every once in a while, we’re humbled by someone truly selfless — someone who insists they’re simply doing their job. But what sets them apart is the empathy and kindness they bring, often without realising it. That’s why they’re our lighthouses, quietly shining a light so that others can shine too.

When we meet people like this, they remind us to reflect on our own values, illuminating our true purpose in life.

Wishing everyone a happy Deepavali.

The music video for 'Pita Hati' by One Buck Short has dropped!

As long-standing champions of Malaysia’s vibrant local music scene, we couldn't be prouder to collaborate with One Buck Short—arguably one of the best indie bands in Malaysia—on this project. With 'Pita Hati' also serving as the soundtrack for the U Mobile short film of the same name, it was a natural fit for us to produce the music video for their latest single.

Celebrating two decades of amazing music, One Buck Short's return to the scene has us all buzzing with excitement and anticipation. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us in 2024!

As we embarked on the scriptwriting journey for this Raya project with U Mobile, the title seemed to materialise effortlessly, as if it were destined.
Yet, in a twist befitting our story, we discovered that "Takdir"—our initially chosen title—isn't as immutable as one might think. Indeed, destiny can be shaped by the choices we make, realised through our perseverance.
This revelation came to life when Izal from One Buck Short graced us with an early listen to their band’s soon-to-be-released single, “Pita Hati”. From that moment, everyone involved in the project felt a profound connection, our heartstrings irrevocably pulled.
Mojo Films wants to extend heartfelt thanks to some very special people who made this emotionally charged project possible: Shasha Abedul and Hafeez Mikhail, thank you for committing wholeheartedly to the soul of our main characters. Shasha, your performance deeply moved all who witnessed your mastery of nuanced acting. Hafeez, we’ve always relied on your ability to effortlessly evoke empathy, and you’ve never once let us down.
A, our director of photography, for skilfully capturing the film's mood and emotion with your lighting.
Aidil, the second cameraman, for your resilience and reliability. No matter the challenge, you stood steadfast, ensuring our vision was captured perfectly.
Ah Fai, for editing the film with such heart and dedication.
Jing, the colourist, for vividly bringing the film to life with your skills.
One Buck Short, for blessing us with the inclusion of the band’s latest single in our film. A special thanks to Izal, for making it all possible.
And lastly, to the real-life couple who inspired this story: wherever life’s journey may take you, may you always find strength in each other. 감사합니다 (Gamsahamnida).
Thank you all. Selamat Hari Raya.
