The film masterfully builds from a quiet domestic dilemma to an unexpected conclusion, posing urgent questions without easy answers. In a world where politics and religion are often rendered simplistically, this director finds a surprising, ingenious path into the heart of these conflicts. For this smart, confident, and original work, the jury presents the award for Best Director to Ananth Subramaniam for the film BLEAT!.”
