Meet the Good Samaritan, Ong Siew Hiang, the Saviour of the Strays

Taking the responsibility of feeding 47 stray dogs, Ong Siew Hiang has been running a stall independently around Bandar Sunway to sustain her haven for rescues and strays. The burger stall becomes her sole earning for the upkeep of the strays in the area, and her laudable effort helps in paying for the strays' medical expenses including nursing them back to health.

Meet the 17-year-old Belle Sisoski, a Finalist of the Commonwealth Song Contest

Confined and isolated were two conditions that drove the 17-year-old Belle Sisoski to compose a song as her coping mechanism during the trying pandemic times. The song called ‘Stop Your Games’ today has been shortlisted as the top seven grand finalists in the Commonwealth Song Contest 2022/2023. Upon being interviewed, Belle voiced her hope of winning the contest, which will be decided via an international public voting system.

Former National Paralympic Awarded with Competent Teacher Award

Jasmi Md Tegol, a 56-year-old who is also a former paralympic badminton champion has recently received a Competent Teacher Award, presented by the Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. Jasmi who is currently teaching Bahasa Melayu (BM) at SMK China Lubok expressed his resolution in not making his disability an obstruction to pursuing his career as an educator and commend others to do the same.
