Great news about our show Sitik Tok!
Last Wednesday we said our goodbye (for now) to Siti and friends on as the finale episode of Season 1 screened on TV3. We knew Media Prima Omnia and TV3 took a gamble with this quirky and out-of-the-ordinary show. 16 episodes later we received great news from TV3 about the ratings.
Sitik Tok averaged 1.8m viewers per episode.
Reaching 2.4m unique viewers overall.
This is a huge success for a 30 minute show.
With Sitik Tok our aim was to make something fresh without alienating TV3’s loyal audience. We pushed the boundaries on the story, style & tone. This was a difficult balancing act as Sitik Tok is a satirical comedy about modern Malaysian culture. In that sense it’s more obviously ‘streaming’ content but we have great partners in Media Prima who believed in the story and their audience and was bold enough to take this on for TV3.
TV3 is Malaysia’s most popular TV channel. It is also the toughest platform for a show like Sitik Tok to gain acceptance. That it was a success is amazing and proof that new ideas can be accepted by the mass. We couldn’t be prouder ❤️
