Artificial Intelligence (AI) now stands at the heart of global transformation, not just as a tool, but as a catalyst for sustainable development across all major sectors.

At WAIC’s High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance., I reaffirmed Malaysia’s support for the Global AI Governance Action Plan, a bold step towards bridging digital divides and ensuring emerging technologies like AI are developed and governed for the collective good of humanity.

Malaysia recognises AI’s potential as an economic growth catalyst. Through the National AI Office (NAIO) established in 2024, we are advancing AI governance and adoption across all sectors. As ASEAN Chair 2025, we are proud to spearhead the ASEAN AI Safety Network to promote responsible AI use and regional cooperation.

This August, Malaysia will host the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit (11–12 Aug) and Smart Cities World Expo Kuala Lumpur (17–19 Sept) platforms for policymakers, industry and academia to drive the global digital agenda forward.

In this AI-driven era, collaboration is not optional—it is essential. Only through shared commitment, innovation and vigilance can we build a digital future that is secure, inclusive and trusted by all.

I am in Shanghai, China with the delegation of Ministry of Digital at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance.

At the opening ceremony, I echo the Chinese Premier Li Qiang‘s stance in his speech that there’s a need for more coordination between countries to form a globally recognised framework for AI.

Collaboration is undeniably a key component in ensuring that we thrive together in the digital age. Looking forward to insightful discussions and potential partnerships pertaining to responsible AI governance and the overall application of AI in our daily lives.

Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Digital, Tuan Fabian Bigar telah menghadiri Seminar Bersama Ke-10 dan Sukan Perkhidmatan Awam Ke-41 antara Malaysia dan Singapura yang berlangsung dari 18 hingga 20 Julai 2025 di Hotel Grand Hyatt, Singapura.

Penyertaan ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan kedua-dua negara dalam memperkukuh kerjasama dua hala, khususnya dalam sektor perkhidmatan awam dan digitalisasi kerajaan.

Delegasi Kementerian Digital akan menyertai World Artificial Intelligence Conference di Shanghai, China dari 25 sehingga 30 Julai 2025. Bertemakan "Global Solidarity in the AI Era", WAIC adalah platform untuk jalinan kerjasama antarabangsa, teknologi AI terkini serta menggalakkan perbincangan mengenai urus tadbir AI dan impaknya ke atas pelbagai industri.

Malaysia akan berpeluang untuk bersinar di pentas global, Menteri Digital bakal berucap di High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, disusuli dengan ucap tama di Emerging Markets and Developing Countries Forum dan dialog China-ASEAN AI Forum.

WAIC mendatangkan peluang bernilai kepada Malaysia untuk menzahirkan kepimpinan dalam AI yang inklusif dan berorientasikan manusia serta urus tadbir AI yang bertanggungjawab Beberapa dialog dan jalinan kerjasama strategik juga bakal mengambil tempat semasa berlangsungnya kunjungan ini, seterusnya mengukuhkan ikatan dan membentuk masa depan.
