The last unit of the Honda Jazz in Malaysia rolled off the production line back in 2021. It was then replaced by the Honda City Hatchback to fill the hatchback role in the brand’s line-up. However, in other markets like China, the Honda Jazz still exists up until today. It now also comes with a look that may divide opinions.
In China, it carries the ‘Fit’ nameplate. The front end features split LED headlamps and a bulky front fascia. Moving to the side, the body line is still the same as the one in Japan. Upsize its wheels and jack up its suspension by a few millimetres, and it will become a mini MPV, like the Daihatsu Sigra in Indonesia that is based on the first-gen Axia platform.
Malaysians sure love Hondas. It is no surprise that for the longest time, Honda has been the second best-selling foreign brand in our market. If the Jazz had continued to be produced in Malaysia up until today with this Chinese-market look, do you think the average ‘Abang H’ would still carry their pride?
