We’re back for our 4th visit to Animation Kingdom International since 2023! It’s always inspiring to check out the final year projects from UiTM’s diploma and degree animation students!

This time, we wanted to explore opportunities to hire interns for our CyberLegends Animations studio and learn about the process of hiring interns from UiTM. We spent time speaking with the students, looking at their projects, and learning more about their internship timelines.

I noticed there were more animations featuring fight and battle sequences. Action scenes are technically challenging to execute, but when done well, they create some of the most memorable visual moments.

But beyond the visual spectacle, we were just as interested in the process and the people behind the animations. Behind every animation is a story of its own, and we listened to how they brought their vision to life.

Woohoo! 500,000 subscribers on Bilibili!

We still can’t quite believe we’ve reached this milestone. CyberLegends Animations has officially crossed 500,000 subscribers and 26 million views on China's video platform, Bilibili!

For us, this platform has been rather challenging. Neither of us could read Chinese, so everything was unfamiliar, but we decided to take on the challenge to navigate and post our videos on the platform.

Our 2D animation videos use text dialogue instead of voice acting. For the Bilibili platform, we translated all character dialogue into Chinese. Sheldon also coded a software tool that automatically replaces the English dialogue with Chinese text.

To check accuracy, we used translation apps. However, they sometimes produced very confusing results, so we would cross-check multiple apps to figure out the correct wording.

Through all of that, we just kept going. A lot of that persistence came from the support and encouragement around us, especially from our parents who always reminded us not to give up when things felt overwhelming.

We’re grateful to everyone on Bilibili who watched, followed, commented, and supported our animations. It has motivated us to keep creating and improving!

Our books are making their way to BookXcess!

Long before we started creating 2D animations, we were telling stories through storybooks that we had authored and illustrated.

This reminded me of a lot of important memories that have been crucial to our creative journey.

Back in 2017, Emerson was just 9 and I was 10+ when we gave our first author talk, sharing about the stories and characters in our books. This outlet for creativity opened many doorways for us: We sold them during the workshops we conducted, at fairs and events, and had even donated part of the proceeds to charity.

Over the years, we had the opportunity to do several author talks and book launches, including a virtual author talk at Borders in 2021 and a physical event there in 2022, before the bookstore ceased operations in August 2023.

Reading through these books again today reminds me how early the foundation for everything we do now was already being built. Even back then, we were creating original characters and building our own worlds without fully realising where it would eventually lead us!

As our focus gradually shifted toward animation over the past three years, we unfortunately never got to publish several sequels to our storybooks that we have drafted. Most of our creative energy went into scriptwriting and producing animations for our YouTube channel, CyberLegends Animations. Maybe one day, we'll turn them into animations. Still, these books bring back many fond memories of simpler times.

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from parents and readers who enjoyed our stories, and I hope these books inspire others to think creatively and create worlds and stories of their own as well. You never know where these might lead to in the future. - Sheldon Chong

We are looking for a freelance Junior Video Editor to handle basic editing for our 2D animation YouTube channel. This is a straightforward, entry-level role, suitable for students looking to gain some experience while they learn.

Your primary responsibility is to follow our project guide to add sound effects (SFX) in specific spots and perform clip adjustments (trimming/extending). You will work closely with our Lead Editor, who will handle the final polish and creative refinements once the foundation is set.
