🌿 How to Enjoy Art in Nature 🎨🍃
Nature is a beautiful teacher—when we slow down and listen, we start to see it differently.
Here’s how you can turn your outdoor moment into a mindful sketch ritual:
🧘♀️Observe in stillness – let the moment guide your senses.
📓Bring a sketchbook + 0.1 fineliner pen – keep it simple and light.
🌱 Breathe in green – inhale inspiration, exhale distractions.
🌀 Draw loosely – follow the flow, not perfection.
🎨 Take note of shapes, patterns, and colours – nature is full of design cues waiting to be noticed.
This is one of my favourite ways to reconnect with my creativity and I practice this almost every morning.
🖌️ Have you ever tried making art outdoors? Or do you have your own ritual? Tell me below! 👇

🪷The process matters more to me than the finished piece- it’s where I feel most alive.👇
There’s something magical about creating without needing a plan… just following the marks, colors, and emotions that rise up from within.
This is where intuitive painting lives- in the freedom, the flow, and the trust.
🌀 Have you ever wanted to experience creative freedom for yourself?
When you start your own intuitive painting ritual, you get to reconnect with your creative spirit- no rules, just your inner voice guiding the way.

Inspiration is sacred, but it needs form. Without action, it fades into nothing.
True creative living is a daily practice.
It’s less about waiting for the muse, and more about building the habit to welcome her in.
This is where art is born.

Self-empowerment doesn’t always look like big wins or morning affirmations. Sometimes, it is subtle — the way you speak to yourself, or the way you reclaim your power after a hard day.
I don’t have a perfect daily method, but these 8 truths are what I return to again and again.
They’ve helped me through self-doubt, and limiting beliefs that shows up even in my creative practice. If you’re navigating any of that too — this post is for you.
✨ Save this as a reminder.
✨ Come back to it whenever you need.
✨ And be gentle with yourself.

🎨12 Colours for a Watercolour Travel Palette. 📌Save/Share this!
🌈 I enjoy making art on the go. I find little ways to pack a little art-to-go kit even if it’s just a sketchbook with a pen holder tucked away in a booksleeve.
Here, I have put together my own watercolour travel kit. These colours are based on Alpha Artists Watercolour tubes. With so many colours to include, I have decided to stick to some basic tones while I allow room for mixing the colours.
FYI, these colours are based on my own choice, including colours that I used the most. You can do the same if you are not sure which colours to pack.

✂️Starting a Junk Journal is Easy. A junk journal can be anything you want it to be.
Really it isn’t complicated. There’s no theme, no structure, not even a right or wrong way doing it. That’s what makes it liberating!
You can start junk journaling instantly. You just need a notebook or a scrapbook of some kind, even envelopes or pamphlets. Gather daily ephemera from anywhere and anything you see. Start sticking in your journal, make notes, write poetries and quotes. The rest is a form of intuitive art making.
Anyone can do it! ↗️Share this post.

The Artsy Craftsy is a Malaysian arts and crafts platform to help you be creative, make art, stay crafty (and love handmade!) via creative arts and DIY crafts resources. Here, we celebrate the artists, crafters, makers and creative hobby-lovers!
Hi! I’m Shia Lynn, Creator of The Artsy Craftsy. I created The Artsy Craftsy in 2008, as an arts and crafts blog to help people discover their inner artist and joy of creation while supporting the local creatives. With the years of networking with artists & crafters, my aim is to contribute to the growth of the creative community, and to empower people to be creative.
How The Artsy Craftsy Started
Originally started off as a blog in 2008 when there were no local craft blogs, The Artsy Craftsy's mission was to help people discover their inner artist and the joy of making through stories about the creator's personal creative journey, DIY craft tutorials and creativity tips on overcoming creative blockages. As an inspiration, the blog also featured some of the Malaysian artists, crafters and makers. In 2015, it became an arts and crafts platform to cultivate creativity through online and offline activations. Thanks to the support of our community, we are grateful that we are still one of the popular names in the Malaysian arts and crafts community
