The Prosteomax Product Launching ceremony was successfully held on 25th of May 2022 (Wednesday) at the Granulab Kota Kemuning office foyer, Shah Alam.

Attended by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) - YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Amzad Bin Hashim who also officiated the ceremony together with the Chief Executive Officer of KPower Berhad - Mr. Amirul Afif Abd Aziz, Deputy Chairman of KPower Berhad - Ms. Sarah Azreen Abdul Samat and the Chief Executive Officer of KPower Healthcare & Technologies Sdn Bhd.

Prosteomax™ Product Launch - Malaysia's Halal Certified Bone Cement by Granulab Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Prosteomax™ is a Calcium Phosphate-based bone cement to treat segmental bone defects or injuries either due to trauma or non-union cases or even diseased bones. Moreover, it is an osteoconductive and biodegradable synthetic bone construct from calcium phosphate-based materials.

The main composition of Prosteomax™ is the combination of Tri-calcium phosphate and Tetra-calcium phosphate materials; which are highly resorbable. The chemical compositions of Prosteomax™ is called Osteopaste™.

Applications

Prosteomax™ - is a calcium phosphate bone cement. It contains tri-calcium phosphate and tetra-calcium phosphate materials and thus, is highly resorbable. Prosteomax™ is currently undergoing the product evaluation process for CE Mark certification. It comes in powder form and will only need to be mixed with water to form a paste. This paste is injectable into bone cavity, e.g. osteoporotic bone, or can also be moulded into silicon moulds to form any shapes and sizes, e.g. hollow temporary cylinder spacer for Illizarov bone transport technique, segmental bone defect, etc.

Our Story

GranuLab (M) Sdn Bhd – a BioNexus Status Company (BNX 100217), was established since May 2006. It is a medical device manufacturing company for synthetic bone graft GranuMas®.

Granulab is a subsidiary of SIRIM Tech Venture (STV), a company wholly owned by SIRIM Berhad. Granulab manufacturing facility is certified with ISO 13485:2016 by BSI Netherlands and, Good Distribution Practice for Medical Device (GDPMD). The facility is well equipped and capable of producing multiple types, form, shape and size of synthetic bone grafts to cater to the needs of clients, hospitals and patients.

The company will continue to foster close collaboration with the Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMREC) of SIRIM for materials development and the technologies of producing Hydroxyapatite into granular bone graft product.
