Chery Omoda 5 Axle Issue: Is Your Car Affected?

JPJ has temporarily suspended the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) for the Chery Omoda 5 and halted new registrations following another rear-axle detachment incident in Johor Bahru. Chery Malaysia has announced a recall covering affected Omoda 5 C and H variants, with inspections and necessary component replacements offered free of charge. BMW’s next electric SUV coupe, the iX4 is here!

With up to 603hp, 0–100km/h in 3.9 seconds, a claimed range of up to 689km for the iX4 50 xDrive and 400kW fast charging, the new iX4 brings BMW’s Neue Klasse technology into a sportier package.

It also gets a futuristic Panoramic iDrive cockpit and next-generation driver assistance tech.

Coming from March 2027 in its initial launch market. Malaysian pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.

The Proton X50 Sport Edition is here and bookings are now open.

Based on the flagship X50, the new SE gets 15 exclusive exterior and interior enhancements, including black 18-inch wheels, dedicated front/side/rear skirtings, black exterior garnishes, red accents and Sport Edition detailing inside.

Under the bonnet, it retains the 1.5L i-GT turbo with 181 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DCT. 0-100 km/h takes 7.6 seconds, while claimed fuel consumption is 6.1L/100km.

The X50 SE also keeps the 14.6-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and 15 ADAS features.

Price has yet to be announced.

The all-new third-generation Mazda CX-5 is officially here in Malaysia!

Priced at RM171,510.40 for the 2.5G 2WD High, the latest CX-5 gets a sharper Kodo-inspired design, a more spacious cabin, new 12.9-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, Bose 12-speaker audio and a comprehensive i-Activsense safety suite.

Under the bonnet is still a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre SkyActiv-G producing 185 hp and 257 Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic.

It’s fully imported from Japan and comes with a 5-year warranty + 5-year free maintenance programme.
