Jamie Foxx (born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967) is an American actor, singer, comedian, and producer. He started his career in stand-up comedy and gained early fame on the sketch comedy series In Living Color in the early 1990s.

He transitioned into acting with his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001), but his major breakthrough came with dramatic film roles. Foxx won widespread acclaim and the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biographical film Ray (2004).
