Omaruru Cleanup in fullswing

Diverse stakeholders in Omaruru are committed to make the National Clean up Campaign a success by committing resources, time and energy to the cause.
Yesterday the Lucius S. Mahoto Correctional Training College and the Omaruru Correctional Facility clean up around 7de Laan, 5Rand and Shackdwellers as they will be committed to an event in Mariental. 20 inmates from the Omaruru Correctional Facility and learners from Omaruru Primary School are currently cleaning parts of Omaruru town, while other schools will be expected to join in tomorrow and Friday.
On the designated clean up day, May 25 the Omaruru Municipality as the facilitator of the campaign is calling all residents to gather at 08H00 at Mabokke Stadium were the Mayor Hendrina Gebhardt will officially welcome everyone before the clean up. The cleanup is expected to conclude at 12h45 with a gathering at Ozondje Municipal offices.
"This should be a collective effort from all of us as a community" Gebhadt said during a meeting of stakeholders this morning "everyone should come out and do their part"
Environmental Health Officer Jesaja Andreas told the gathering that Ozondje, especially Hakahana will receive concentrated effort during this clean up as its one of the most dirtiest areas. According to Andreas this will help the municipality to cope with future cleanups in the area.
Among the stakeholders who have indicated support to the clean up are> Lewis Store (5 workers and a bakkie), Omaruru Constituency Office (1x Bakkie), Hospital (Bakkie), FNB (Refuse bags and Drinks), Standard Bank (educational posters, refuse bags, gloves and Gazebos), NAMPOL (10 officers and a bakkie), NAMCOL (bakkie), Erongo Drums (bakkie, Trailer, bags), Shackdwellers and Hospital will clean their immediate surroundings while Ubasen Primary and Paheye Primary will spearhead the bulk of the hands as always.
The clean up is being held nationwide after a call by statehouse to dedicate 25 May to cleaning.
