President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has signalled significant reforms for Namibia’s fishing industry, putting transparency, fishing rights, offshore processing, ownership and by-catch under scrutiny as government prepares to reshape the sector.

Speaking at the inaugural National Fisheries Indaba in Walvis Bay at the conclusion of the second day of the three-day event on Friday, Nandi-Ndaitwah said government and industry would both have to change how they operate if reforms were to succeed.
