An afternoon of hope, wholesomeness and so much excitement. Believe me when I tell you that nothing brings Namibians together like water 🤍

The Swakop River has finally reached the ocean. The last time this happened was in 2022, and before that in 2011.

In a country facing severe drought, this phenomenon is always celebrated. We had traffic jams (for the first time in forever) as people flocked toward the Swakop River Mouth, where we all waited patiently for what we knew would be a breathtaking moment. Eventually, children sprung into action, deciding they would help our river meet its target, the Atlantic Ocean. As they dug tirelessly everyone cheered. And once the two finally met, the cheers erupted into delighted screams as the sky was illuminated by flares.

These moments make my truly proud of this country, and the beautiful people that live here ❤️

For the peace found in your nature,
For the warmth of your people across the nation,
For the endless adventures,

This trip was truly one for the books. With breathtaking views, being surrounded by nature, beautiful wildlife and the very best people, how could it go wrong? 🤍
