Namibia Launches First AfCFTA Export from Walvis Bay

Namibia has officially commenced trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) with its first export consignment leaving the Port of Walvis Bay, marking a key milestone in regional integration and economic growth.

Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi described AfCFTA as “a bold step toward Africa’s economic unity.”

Namport CEO Andrew Kanime highlighted investments at Walvis Bay and Lüderitz ports to enhance trade efficiency, industrial development, and regional value addition.
