Cuca Tops Accused of Poaching Players

Rundu - Newly promoted Cuca Tops Football Club is facing accusations of poaching players from Buffalo Horns Academy.

In a letter addressed to Cuca Tops Chairman Herculano Mwenyo, Buffalo Horns Academy President Julius Simbombo expressed disappointment in the club’s conduct. The letter alleges that Cuca Tops engaged a non-executive member to use Buffalo Horns’ players without the academy’s consent.

Buffalo Horns has offered to assist Cuca Tops in forming a women’s team but criticized the club for not following proper procedures. The academy claims 21 of its female players are being targeted to meet league requirements.

The much-anticipated second phase of the festival, originally scheduled to begin on September 5th, has been postponed. XPTS International, the tournament's official sponsor, informed organizers that unforeseen circumstances prevent the event from proceeding as planned. Despite the delay, XPTS reaffirmed its commitment with a four-year sponsorship deal (2024-2027), set to launch after this year's soccer final. Organizers are now looking at dates between October and December 2024 for the rescheduled event.
