Result… Paralympic athlete Johanna Benson competed at the World Para-Athletics Championships in India this evening, finishing seventh in the women’s 400metre T37 final with a time of 1:11.28 seconds. The race was won by Natalia Kobzar of Ukraine in 1:01.18 seconds, while Selma Van Kerm of Belgium finished last in 1:16.23 seconds.

Silver… Namibian triathlete, Nathan Chase received a silver medal in the Youth B Men aged 16-17 category today at the Xterra Youth World Championships in Molveno, Italy. Chase came second to Ondřej Plic of the Czech Republic.

Ovambanderu Traditional Authority (OTA) Chief Eben Tjozohongo Nguvauva II, accompanied by senior traditional councillors and community members are attending the Mafwe Lusata Festival in the Zambezi region. OTA cultural groups are expected to perform at the annual festival underway at Chincimani.

Accident… A team deployed to Ongolo Combined School for the Outapi Constituency by-election was involved in a car accident earlier today. The incident occurred approximately 1 kilometre from the Ongolo tarred road from Outapi. The Electoral Commission of Namibia spokesperson, Mulauli Siluka said all seven occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Outapi Hospital for medical attention.
