Give them flowers… Diana Eises, an employee of Taminika Events and Floral Expressions, prepares flowers at the Old Power Station Centre. This year, business in the cut flower industry has apparently not been the same as last year. Despite slow sales, the store has received some orders for Mother’s Day hampers. The special occasion will be celebrated this Sunday. The flower shop has also created a weekend pop-up stand at the Grove Mall of Namibia to cater to those in need of floral gifts.

Becoming a beacon – After 44 weeks of Inspiring at the weekly Inspire Market hosted at the Old Power station it was time to close and provide space for another. The market was never seen as a permanent but rather a lifeline, an assistance in dire times and last year the Inspiration Table brand took it upon ourselves to create something worthwhile, inspired and necessary for the small business, the creator and designer and the farmer to have a weekly space to keep the proverbial pots cooking during the hard covid lock down.

After January we saw, most people are starting to go back to their day-to-day life and a weekend market was not a priority anymore. Shopping Local and supporting Local will always be the key for Namibians to become self-sufficient and we all need to have a side hustle to keep going and enrich yourself not just with the monetary component but also the process of being creatively inclined.

The Inspire Market became a platform for testing out products and services and for that we were extremely grateful. The Inspire Market Family was a group of truly gifted “Inspirators” and led to some amazing new ventures, products that were listed on our local supermarket shelves and even new retail spaces that were open due to the platform and boost the Inspire Market provided.

We will miss the Saturday morning buzz, the amazing products and services that was rendered but we also believe that the end of the market opens the doors to even more signature exhibits in the future and we are already hard at work on planning a monthly “INSPIRED COLLECTION”.

The Inspiration Table \Inspirasie Tafel brand was always about the next big thing, creative Genius, design and inspirational people and their creations.
