Warm greetings.

We, at Gobabis Primary School, humbly reach out to request your kind support in assisting our learners with Tswana traditional attires. Our learners are making a sincere effort to practice and uphold their culture, despite the many challenges of living in town where they are daily exposed to a mixture of different tribes and cultures.

While urban life often makes it difficult for children to stay connected to their roots, these young learners have shown remarkable commitment and interest in preserving their Tswana identity through cultural activities, songs, dances, and storytelling. For them, wearing traditional attire is not only a symbol of pride but also a way of reminding themselves and others that culture is a living heritage that must be celebrated and passed on to future generations.

Unfortunately, many of our learners come from families with limited financial means, making it hard for them to afford the proper traditional clothes needed for cultural events at school. Your generous donation, whether in kind or in funds, will go a long way in ensuring that every child who wishes to showcase their culture is able to do so with dignity and pride.

By supporting this initiative, you will not only be helping our children embrace and celebrate their Tswana heritage, but you will also be contributing to unity, diversity, and cultural pride within our school and community.

Mma Moratwa wa gago

Tirelo Ya Sechaba started broadcasting on 1st April 1981 on the Omurari FM (formerly known as Otjiherero radio) as Setswana radio with two staff members only.

The broadcast could only be heard in Windhoek and Gobabis on a 50km radius.

In 1996 we were given time on FM (frequency modulation) and has expanded to places such as Corridor, Aminuis and Epukiro RC, Rundu, Katima Mulilo and Oshakati.
