The NKCC extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the people of Namibia on the passing of the legendary reggae musician, Ras Sheehama.

Ras Sheehama was more than a musical icon—he was a pioneer who shaped Namibia’s music industry and one of the first to successfully monetize music. Through his artistry, he championed the business of music, created opportunities for others, and left an indelible mark on the creative economy.

His legacy lives on in his powerful lyrics, his role in defining Namibia’s cultural identity, and the inspiration he gave to future generations across Africa.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

JUSTIN: The Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) has appointed Ambassador Albertus Aochamub as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 2 September 2025. His six-month tenure follows a shareholder secondment and board approval. Aochamub, a seasoned leader in governance, economic diplomacy, and agro-industrial strategy, is tasked with steering Meatco towards operational stability and sustainable growth. With experience in institutional reform and positioning Namibia in global markets, he is expected to strengthen Meatco’s role in supplying local customers and expanding the international footprint of premium Namibian beef. The board expressed confidence in his leadership during this transitional period.
