NAMIBIAN POLICE FORCE ||KHARAS REGION HOSTS INAUGURAL 2026 EMPLOYEE WELLNESS DAY IN KEETMANSHOOP

The Namibian Police Force in the ||Kharas Region held its first Employee Wellness Day 2026 in Keetmanshoop on Friday.

Police officers from different stations and from different villages and towns in the region came together in the capital of the region to participate in the one-day wellness sports event under the theme “Wellness at work; Success in Life”.

The wellness sports event aims to promote the physical, mental, social, psychosocial, financial, and spiritual well-being of the regional police officers. Additionally, it provides them an opportunity to network, build stronger working relationships, and allow them to reflect on the importance of work-life balance.

The event also encourages them to be able to manage work stress, stay physically active and seek support when challenges arise and reminds them that looking after themselves enables them to improve their overall health, which will help them to look after the communities they serve.

The event started with a procession in which the police authorities marched to the J. Stephanus stadium where they will take part in team- building activities and games such as sack-race, human knot, tug-war, and other sport activities.

KHOMAS TRIUMPHS IN PENALTY SHOOTOUT AT WELLNESS SPORT WEEK

Kashava shared her joy following a decisive 3-1 penalty shootout victory over Omusati at the UNAM Stadium.

The match was part of the 8th Regional Councils Annual Wellness Sport Week, organized by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD).

Since launching on Monday, 14 September 2026, the week-long celebration finishes today, having gathered civil servants nationwide for traditional games, athletics, and team sports like football and volleyball.

OHANGWENA REGIONAL COUNCIL FACES KUNENE REGIONAL COUNCIL IN OWELA FINAL

The Ohangwena Regional Council is going head-to-head against the Kunene Regional Council in Owela on the closing day of the 8th Regional Councils Annual Wellness Sport Week at the UNAM Stadium.

Hosted by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), the week-long event wraps up today following its kickoff on Monday, 14 September 2026.

Public servants from across Namibia came together to compete in football, netball, volleyball, owela, amagoes, tug of war, penalty shootouts, and track events.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development(MURD) leads the Ohangwena Regional Council 1-0 at halftime on the final day of the 8th Regional Councils Annual Wellness SportWeek at the UNAM Stadium.

OFFICIAL FACE-OFF AT NBC HEADQUARTERS FOR MTC SALUTE BOXING ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL BOXING BONANZA

MTC Salute Boxing Academy hosted the official fighter face-off at the NBC
Headquarters ahead of the highly anticipated MTC Salute Boxing Academy International Boxing Bonanza, taking place this Saturday at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.

The main event features Namibia’s Fillemon
Nghutenanye clashing with Berland Robles of the Philippines for the WBO Global Flyweight Title. In the co-main event, Jonathan Kasheeta faces Tanzania’s Ally Ngwando for the WBO Youth International Bantamweight Title.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Kasheeta expressed total confidence after eight months of preparation, declaring: “The win will stay in Namibia-there is no way he will take the belt to Tanzania.”

The action-packed card also sees veteran fighters Daniel “Open Fire” Kashela and Hedison “Bulelo” Nghipondoka stepping into the ring.
