In Women's T20Is, ICC Africa is the strongest region in terms of competitiveness, with three (3) Nations in the World's Top 20 rankings, and six (6) in total in World's Top 30 rankings.
In the last few years since COVID, the African region has seen a massive uptick in the standard of T20Is matches played between the Women's National teams from Associate members, in terms of performance and competitiveness, and the availability of fixtures. ICC Asia, East Asia-Pacific and ICC Europe region, although they have the heavyweights in Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Netherlands and others, the regions as a whole falls behind Africa. Even in terms of team rankings, Asia, East Asia-Pacific (EAP) and Europe have only two (2) Nations each in the Top 20 rankings, while Africa has three (3) now, with all the growth coming in the last 3-4 years. The Africa region has multiple multi-nation tournaments held across a calendar year, and that has helped teams improve more, when playing against each-other.
ICC Americas, still has some way to go before they have 3-4 competitive Teams besides the USA in the region, for achieving higher honors at a consistent level and breakthrough into ICC Global events.
