Bayelsa State slams the brakes on timber, sand transport

The Bayelsa State Government, under Governor Douye Diri, has imposed restrictions on the transportation (or "carrying") of wood/timber/forest products and activities related to sand (via dredging). On December 30, 2025, the state Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, announced this in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Change to Stamp Duty on Electronic Transfers
