We Are All Victims of The Benue Massacre....
Some of us think because it happened in Benue, far away from our homes, it is not our business but we are wrong.
We are all affected directly or indirectly. There is a reason Benue is called the "food basket of the nation." The yams, rice, beans, millets, corn, oats, wheats etc you eat in the south and west come majorly from Benue and other northern states.
When there are insecurity issues in these areas, these affect crop production and transportation, thereby inflating the prices of food items in our markets.
So when next you are told a tuba of yam costs N5000, remember that your little voice added via a post on your wall could have helped forced our ever adamant government into actions that could curb these menaces.
When we do not rally and speak for others in their low moments, there maybe no one left to speak for us when they come for us.
In Nigeria, social media has proven to be a veritable tool for social justice overtime, use it well. It is not only for watching comedy skits and reading gossips, it is also a tool for demanding accountability from our leaders.
VDM and activists alone can't do it. In fact, all activitists can do absolutely nothing without the small voices of everyone coming together to form a greater voice in unison.
It could be a post, or even a like, a share or a comment. Every little action counts and helps put pressure on our leaders to take action. Ignoring and doing nothing is a crime that only your conscience can judge.
We are always stronger together and weaker individually. Use your voice, no matter how many minute, it counts.
