"Everyone thought she was being proud because she never joined any group assignment."๐Ÿฅน

It had become a normal thing in our department.

Whenever a lecturer said, "Form groups of five," everybody would quickly find their friends.

But this particular girl always stayed alone.

Some students started calling her proud.

Others said she thought she was better than everyone.

One afternoon, a lecturer gave us a group presentation.

As usual, everyone started forming groups.

One guy looked at her and said jokingly,

"Madam, you no dey group again?"

She smiled and said,

"I'm fine. Just leave me."๐Ÿฅน

People laughed.

But that evening, something happened.

One of her classmates went to the library and saw her sitting alone with a notebook.

She wasn't reading.

She was waiting.

After a while, she brought out an old phone, called someone and said,

"Hello, Grandma... I have to stay here until 7 today. Please don't wait for me."

The classmate became curious.

Later, she asked her why she always avoided group work.

The girl finally explained.

She lived with her grandmother, who couldn't walk properly.

Every day after lectures, she had to get home early enough to help her bathe, prepare food and take her medication.

She couldn't attend group meetings that lasted till evening.

And she was too embarrassed to keep explaining it to people.

So she simply stopped joining groups.

The classmate told the others.

The next day, when the lecturer announced another group assignment, one of the students walked over to her.

"Come, join us."๐Ÿฅน

She shook her head.

"I can't stay late."

The student smiled.

"No problem. We'll do the meeting online. You can contribute from home."

For the first time, she didn't have to choose between her assignment and the person waiting for her at home.

And that's when I realized something.

Sometimes people don't exclude themselves because they hate everyone.

Sometimes they're just trying to manage a life nobody knows about.

Before calling someone proud, lazy or antisocial...

maybe ask yourself what they might be dealing with quietly.

Una dey marry ooo! But please, marry person wey go value your life.๐Ÿฅน

I came across this story and honestly, it scared me.

A woman had delivered twins through CS not long before she became pregnant again. When it was time for another delivery, she was reportedly in labour at home, but her husband allegedly refused to take her to the hospital because he didn't want her to undergo another operation.

According to the account, she was kept at home and someone was brought in to assist with the delivery.

Things went badly.

After the baby was delivered, the woman began bleeding heavily. She reportedly remained at home for hours without proper medical attention.

By the time help finally came, it was too late.

What broke me most was thinking about how preventable some situations can be when someone is denied proper medical care.

Marriage is not supposed to mean losing your voice.

Pregnancy is not the time to ignore a woman's decision about her health.

And love should never require you to stay where your life is being treated as less important than someone's opinion.

Ladies, please learn about your health, know your rights, keep trusted people around you and don't be afraid to speak up when something feels wrong.

And to the men reading this: loving your wife also means protecting her when she is vulnerable.

A wedding ring is not a licence to control another person's life.

May we all learn to choose partners who will protect us, not put us in danger.

"When the lecturer announced that the best presentation would win a laptop, everybody laughed. But one student took it very seriously."๐Ÿฅน

It happened during one of our lectures.

The lecturer stood in front of the class and said,

"At the end of this semester, the best presentation will win a brand new laptop."

Some people laughed.

Someone at the back shouted, "Sir, hope say na real laptop o?"

Everybody laughed again.

But one boy didn't laugh.

He just wrote something in his notebook.

From that day, he became serious about the presentation.

While some of us were still choosing our topics, he was already researching.๐Ÿฅน

I noticed him staying around the library long after lectures.

One afternoon, I asked him,

"Why are you taking this presentation this serious?"

He smiled and said,

"Because I need that laptop."

I thought he was joking.

Then he told me he had been doing his assignments with his phone.

Sometimes the phone would hang while he was typing.

Sometimes he would borrow someone's laptop and rush his work before the owner needed it.

He said his father had been trying to get him one, but there were more important things at home.

"So if I can win this one, I won't have to keep disturbing people," he said.

That was when I understood why he never joked about the competition.

Presentation day came.

One after another, students went in front of the class.

When it was his turn, he looked nervous at first.

But once he started speaking, everything changed.

He knew his work.

He answered every question the lecturer asked.

When the presentations were over, the lecturer announced the winner.

It was him.

The class cheered.

The lecturer brought out the laptop and handed it to him.

He held it quietly for a few seconds.

Then he smiled and said,

"Thank you, sir."

He didn't cry.

He didn't make a big scene.

He simply looked at the laptop like someone who knew exactly what it meant.

Later that day, I saw him sitting under the school tree setting it up.

For the first time, he didn't have to ask anybody,

"Please, can I use your laptop for this assignment?"

Sometimes what looks like a simple prize to one person can be a very big opportunity to another.

You may be laughing at the opportunity everyone else is ignoring...

while someone beside you is quietly praying for that exact chance.โค๏ธ

"The girl everyone gossiped about was secretly cleaning hospital floors at night to pay her school fees."๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ˜ฅ

There was a girl in our department people talked about all the time.

Not because she was rude.

Not because she caused trouble.

But because she was always tired.

Always.

Sometimes she would doze off during lectures.

Sometimes her clothes looked rushed and wrinkled.

Sometimes she arrived late to class with red eyes.

People noticed.

And people talked.

You know how campus can be.

Some said she was following rich men.

Some said she was always partying at night.

Others created stories they couldn't prove.

The painful part?

The girl heard everything.

Every rumor.

Every insult.

Every laugh behind her back.

But she never defended herself.

Never.

She would just lower her head and continue walking.

One day, a student from our department fell sick and was rushed to a local clinic.

Later that night, he saw something nobody expected.

The same girl everyone was mocking.

Holding a mop.

Cleaning the hospital floor.

Wearing an oversized cleaner's uniform.

Sweeping corridors.

Emptying waste bins.

Washing dirty bathrooms.

At first he thought his eyes were deceiving him.

But it was her.

The next morning he approached her.

"Why didn't you tell people the truth?"

The girl smiled sadly.

Then she said something that stayed with me.

"If they laugh at rumors, that's okay."

"But if they know what I really do, some of them will laugh even harder."

Silence.

She continued.

"My school fees won't pay themselves."

"My mother is sick."

"My younger brother is still in secondary school."

"So every night after lectures, I go there and work."

"I get home when most people are waking up."

At that moment, everything made sense.

The tired eyes.

The lateness.

The silence.

The pain.

While people were busy judging her...

She was busy surviving.

The truth is, some people are carrying responsibilities far heavier than we can imagine.

That's why you should be careful how you judge others.

The person you're mocking today may be fighting a battle that would break you if it became yours.

Be kind.

You never know what someone is sacrificing just to keep going.

Every morning, she comes to our lodge shouting, 'Water! Water!'. ๐Ÿฅน
but nobody knew why a little girl was doing that. ๐Ÿ˜”"

There is a little girl who comes to our lodge almost every morning to sell water.

The thing that always bothers me is her age. This girl is not even up to 8 years old, yet she pushes a wheelbarrow with two 25-litre on it.

If you need water, she will run downstairs, fetch it for you and bring it back up. You pay her, and she moves to the next room.
I've known her for a while, and something always bothered me.
She doesn't go to school.

One morning, a guy in our lodge finally stopped her and asked, "Small girl, you no dey go school?"
She smiled at first, but after a few seconds, her face changed.

She said quietly, "I used to want to go."
The guy asked, "So why you no dey go again?"
She looked down at the wheelbarrow and said,
"My mama no get money. She said if I help her sell water, we fit eat."
Then she added,
"I want to go to school, but I don't want my mama to worry about me."
That answer changed the whole mood.
She wasn't outside because she wanted to be.

She was just a child trying to help her mother survive.
The guy told a few people what she had said, and before long, some students in the lodge started asking questions about her family.
They found her mother, explained what had happened, and a few people decided to help with her school enrollment, uniforms and basic supplies.

The next time she came to the lodge shouting, "Water! Water!" someone called her.
"Come here, you no need carry water today."
She looked confused.

Then they told her she was going back to school.
She just stood there quietly.
Then she smiled.

It was probably the first time many of us had seen her smile like that.
She was a child.

She should have been carrying a school bag, not two 25-litre kegs of water. โค๏ธ

"He was tired of borrowing money for food... then someone showed him a different way to make money with his phone."

There was a student in our area who was always looking for small ways to survive.

Some days, he would go to lectures without eating because the money in his account wasn't enough for both food and transport.

One evening, he was sitting outside his lodge when his friend asked him,

"Bro, you still dey do those online things?"

He laughed.

"Which one? I've registered for plenty. Outlier, OneForma, DataAnnotation... I don't even understand how some of them work."

His friend looked at him and said,

"That's actually the problem. You keep hearing about these platforms, but nobody is showing you how to navigate them."

That night, he was introduced to a community where people were sharing their experiences with remote-work, AI training, data annotation and online task platforms.

He started learning.

He discovered that registering was only one part of the process. Some platforms had assessments. Others had onboarding requirements. Some projects weren't available to everyone.

For the first time, he wasn't just jumping from one platform to another because somebody posted a screenshot of their earnings.

He was learning how the whole thing worked.

He didn't become rich overnight.

But he finally stopped feeling lost.

And sometimes, that's where progress actually starts.

Not with somebody promising you quick money...

but with someone showing you where to begin.

If you've been hearing about Outlier, CrowdGen, DataAnnotation, OneForma, Handshake and other remote-work platforms but don't know where to start, there is a community where people share guides, experiences, platform updates, resources and opportunities.

No "get rich quick" promises.

Just people trying to learn and understand the remote-work space together.

"Someone should please help me with the note for this course."๐Ÿฅน

It was during an argument in our departmental WhatsApp group. Everyone was talking at once when one girl suddenly dropped that message, probably as a joke because she had missed some of the classes.

Then someone replied,

"Note ke? You wey no even get lodge, you dey sleep for school. How you wan take read?"๐Ÿ’”

People started laughing at the reply.

Some sent laughing emojis.

But after a few seconds, someone said,

"This thing no funny o. Read am again."

The group became quiet.

Because nobody actually knew what was happening with the girl.

Later, we found out that her rent had expired during the examination period. She couldn't renew it, and the landlord eventually locked the room๐Ÿฅน.

Her belongings were packed inside her school bag and a few boxes, which she kept somewhere safe in school.

She had been sleeping at the RC at night.

She would wait until everywhere was quiet, spread her wrapper or clothes on one of the seats and sleep there.

In the morning, she would wake up, freshen up and join everyone for lectures like nothing was wrong.

She never announced it.

She never asked anybody for money.

She was still joking in the group and answering questions like every other student.

That was why her message about needing notes sounded funny to everyone.๐Ÿฅน

We didn't know what was behind it.

Our course rep couldn't get it out of his mind, so he privately messaged her and asked if the rent issue was really true.

She tried to brush it off at first.

But eventually, she told him everything.

The course rep took the matter to our SUG President.

After hearing what had happened, he asked for the landlord's number and found out exactly how much she needed.

The next thing she knew, her rent had been paid.

The landlord opened the room.

Her belongings went back inside.

The girl just stood there staring at the receipt, then started crying.

She kept saying,

"I was only joking in the group."

That joke ended up being the reason somebody discovered what she had been going through.

Sometimes, we laugh at something because we don't know the story behind it.

And sometimes, a careless joke can accidentally become the beginning of someone's blessing.

That day, the message that made our group laugh became the message that changed her situation.

๐Ÿšจ YOU KEEP HEARING ABOUT OUTLIER, HANDSHAKE, CROWDGEN, DATAANNOTATION, ONEFORMAโ€ฆ BUT YOU STILL DONโ€™T KNOW WHERE TO START?

A few months ago, someone asked me a simple question:

โ€œHow are people making money online with these remote platforms, and where can I learn how to get started?โ€

The truth is, getting into these platforms is not always as straightforward as people make it look.

You may register and get stuck during onboarding.
You may pass the first stage and fail an assessment.
You may see people talking about projects youโ€™ve never heard of.
Or you may simply not know which platform is worth your time.

That is exactly why we are building a community around REMOTE WORK & AI/DATA PLATFORMS. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ป

We are bringing together people interested in platforms such as:

๐Ÿ”น Outlier
๐Ÿ”น Handshake
๐Ÿ”น CrowdGen
๐Ÿ”น DataAnnotation
๐Ÿ”น OneForma
๐Ÿ”น Atlas
๐Ÿ”น And other legitimate remote-work, AI training, data annotation and online task platforms.

Inside the community, we share useful information, guides, experiences, opportunities, platform updates, assessments, resources, and practical knowledge to help members better understand how these platforms work.

Whether you are:

โœ… Completely new to remote work
โœ… Already working on one of these platforms
โœ… Looking for more platforms to explore
โœ… Having difficulty with onboarding or assessments
โœ… Looking for experienced taskers, guides or remote-work support
โœ… Interested in learning from other people in the space

You are welcome.

This isn't a promise of โ€œget-rich-quickโ€ money. There are no magic tricks here.

It is simply a community for people who are serious about learning, connecting, sharing opportunities and improving their chances in the growing remote-work/AI economy.
