Ebonyi State Government earlier approved N50 million as the sum total of the amount to be disbursed to our destitute children who would be returned from different cities of Nigeria for training in skills after which the N50 million be shared to them to start up. I criticised the budget of the amount three times as paltry which couldn't have shouldered the purpose.

Good to now hear officially that N3 billion has been approved for the same purpose which will be shared to 1,500 people after their trainings that'll come in batches. N2 million is earmarked for each of them. This is encouraging. Thanks to the Governor for this interventionist review and approval.

However, I'm pleading with the Governor to constitute an agency made of technocrats and artisans to steer this all-important intervention. Using notorious politicians to carry it out will defeat the purpose at its embryonic stage as they're going to nominate people who shouldn't be part of it to benefit. They'll nominate ghost participants and their family members who are still students. I'm sure that none of the trainees will be given up to N1million at the end of the training, but it's noteworthy the willpower alone to carry it out.

Another important observation is the approach of pleading with the hawkers and destitute indigenes to surrender themselves for training. They'll not. They will like to stick to the immediate paltry money they make daily to acquiring skills. So, I'm of the opinion that it should be made compulsory. I can help in identifying where they are in droves in Anambra State. In fact, I took these pictures at the UNIZIK Junction in Awka three days ago. These children are all from Izzi as I asked them individually. What they do is to come out every morning to see those they could carry their luggage out of tricycles and vehicles and then get money in return. Every morning, over 25 of them gather here.

I thank the Governor for having the courage alone to listen to the voice of reason and doing the needful. He should do it again by making their return compulsory. We can pick them up from their locations and return them to Ebonyi. It's not difficult to do. It shouldn't be a thing of volition. Whether or not they like it, they must acquire skills or go to school. This is the only way the menace can be reduced drastically and shame will vacate our faces who are pained by the rising indices of the menace.

This is the moment Nkrumah received information that he had been overthrown by a military coup on February 24th, 1966.

8 Facts About Kwame Nkrumah's Overthrow:

1. Kwame Nkrumah was airborne over China in an official visit to Beijing when he was overthrown in a coup.

2. The CIA is alleged to have sponsored the coup because of Kwame Nkrumah's relationship with China and what is now known as Russia.

3. Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai was waiting to receive Nkrumah at the Beijing Airport and had already been informed of the coup before Nkrumah knew of his own overthrow. This left the Chinese Prime Minister in a diplomatic confused state trying to figure out how to receive an overthrown Head of State.

4. Upon landing, Zhou Enlai pretended he hadn't received the news and gave Nkrumah a warm presidential welcome. Prime Minister Zhou the. Took Nkrumah to a private room where he privately informed Nkrumah of the coup. Nkrumah expressed disbelief but eventually accepted reality after reading the message from a foreign news source.

5. Following the coup's confirmation, the 90-member Ghanaian delegation in Beijing distanced themselves from Nkrumah immediately, leaving Kwame Nkrumah stranded and alone.

6. The Ghanaian embassy in Beijing shifted its allegiance to the new military government in Ghana.

7. Nkrumah left China frustrated, confused and ashamed for Guinea, where he was granted political asylum by President Sekou Toure and made co-President of Guinea.

8. Nkrumah passed away in 1972 in Romania on a medical trip, having never returned to Ghana after his ousting.

You Will Never Recover From The Aftermath in Another 50 Years. Terrorism will spread and Millions of Lives will be lost just because of Democracy - an ideology you do not own.
